In my opinion, it is an absolute joke that the U20 championships are starting next weekend.
This comes only a week after the ending of all senior, intermediate and minor fixtures. What will that say for the quality of football if the U20 teams have not trained collectively up to now.
So the county board are only giving teams 1 week collectively before the start of the championship.
Why can't they give it another 2 or 3 weeks at least?

Agree totally, our own club have not trained since relegation final was won.
U-20 competition is not taken seriously enough by our CCC.
p.S. Did anyone see the gestapo like tactics by the field officer in Markievicz yesterday????? MORE ENTERTAINING THAN THE MATCH, WELL DONE TO THE MAOR UISCE WHO WENT STANDSIDE

IT Leaves teams with just a week to prepare and considering the bulk of panelists are away in college its hard to get any collective session in. Should be competitive tho. Who will be favourites? Curry won the last 3 minor championships before this year and Coolera are the holders will anyone be able to stop these two teams?

the county board wonder why sligo dont win u21 championships. the u20 championships are not structured well enough and they do not place enough emphasis on it. look in the likes of roscommon and donegal. the u20/21 championships are just as important as the minor and that is why those counties are successful. time for change?

marys and buninaddan cud be quite strong in the b. 2 years ago they played out a thrilling minor b final and replay with the bunnies winning the replay by a point. cud be a cracking tussle in the group stage.

There was a few suprises today with Mullinabreana getting a good win over st johns and a big surprise in the B with Enniscrone beating St Marys.

i think geevagh can be a force in the under 20 b league, they have 7 of the players who started on there senior team who had a great run in the championship under john hughes. With the likes of pat hughes and stephen mullaney who was in the weekender team of the championship and who is also capable of pulling the women they have great chance of bringin under 20 glory to geevagh.

Bunninadden 4-17 0-8 Enniscrone/Kilglass
St. Mary's scr w/o Castleconnor

Disappointing to see Marys conceding to Castleconnor, for a club that size... Bunninadden back to winning ways

Easkey/St Farnans 4-10, Tour 0-3.
Easy for the West team, poor ref, 2 red cards for handbags.

as a neutral who seen last few mins of first half and the second half Ref had a decent game in my eyes. took no nonsense.
as regards the 2 red cards.. 1. Contribution to a melee and 2. striking opponent.... ah ya he was wrong to send them off! NOT!... right decision to take action immediately.
Very poor Tourlestrane side, Easkey/farnans will be hard stopped..

The B championship has some interesting ties tomorrow -
Castleconnor V Enniscrone - Castleconnor
St. Pats V Geevagh - St. Pats
Bunninadden V Marys - Bunninadden
Shamrock Gaels V Molaise Gaels - Molaise

In the A:
Coolera V Calry - Calry
Curry V Coolaney - Coolaney

Really think the U-20 has to be in spring time anymore, crazy having it this time of the year.
