Roscommon will take on either Galway or Mayo in Hyde Park on July 17th in the Connaught final, but who would you prefer to make the final and why??

galway are chokers what?? how possibly, can you tell me?? any all ireland final at senior minor and under 21 that we got to, we have won, with one exception kerry replay in 2000...how are we chokers?? is it not mayo who are the chokers??? galway are going thru a transitional period so mayo will win connacht this year.... but galway being chokers how?? thats like saying tyrone are chokers because they havent won the all ireland every year...

Well done to all the players on a really good showing in Carrick. Roscommon played very well against Leitrim but was it a case of being let play well. Leitrim were very poor and lost possession very easily. Whether it's Galway or Mayo we meet in the Connaught Final, one thing's for sure, we won't get it as easy as the Leitrim game. Personally I'd prefer Galway as we usually fare well against them in the Hyde.

Hard to know we have a bad record v both sides though if we get Galway in the final Meehan is sure to start so a hesitant vote for Mayo.

Definetly Mayo. After 09 its the perfect opportunity to see how far we have come. I know Leitrim were poor but there were aspects of the performance you couldnt ignore i.e.the relentless tackling and good build up play. I only wish we would kick more ball in. WIth Kilbride and Shine they will win most one-on-ones and are very accurate. The Connacht final will bea true test of Roscommons mettle. Cant wait!

Mayo as they will bottle it in the Hyde like 2001. A chance to avenge the 20 point defeat in 2008

Neither Rossie or Fred have grasped the meaning of" herring chokers".Its one of those nicknames applied to Galway, the same as we are called "sheepstealers".Heaven knows what the origins of these names are.

Ispeakwisdom, 10 long years waiting for a home final is right. Really hopeing we dont bottle this. As ya said, our records in Hyde Park against Galway and Mayo are desperate. It will be a chance for Roscommon to show how far they have actually come since last year.

What's the story with Seamie O'Neill? He was on the bench last Sunday it's a wonder he didn't get a run towards the end.

O'Neill was on the bench but he carried a small injury into the game, he might get a few mins in the Connacht final.

Both Galway and Mayo have their share of injuries to important players going into the game on the 26th. Whoever wins will probably have a stronger panel to pick from come July 17th. It's good to see Roscommon getting stronger again... the province needs it. The main reason our underage teams are so competitive these last few years has been the high standard at those grades across the province. We need to be pushing eachother as strongly at senior. With a bit more luck we could have had an all-Connacht minor final last year, and maybe that event won't be long coming? It's time our senior teams started showing the same levels of self-belief and performance... especially in Croke Park and when they get knocked into the qualifiers. They've shown the way as boys... let them follow now as men!
