What does everyone think about our prospects this year. I think this years are far better than last year. Roscommon have 2 forwards of real class and younger players with a year of football under their belts. They comfortably dealt with division 4 and St Brigids got to an AI final. This along with the U21's beating Mayo in Castlebar and Roscommon CBS winning the AI B schools championship has signalled an indian summer in terms of success. Personally I think if Kilbride and Shine are on form, bearing in mind Kelly from Sligo and Meehan are out, they are the best in the province at the moment bar Padraig Joyce. We have 2 good free takers one whose L footed and one R footed. All these are huge plus' and when you factor in if (and that is a huge if as I am seriously impressed with Leitrim) we get to a final, it will be in Hyde park as far as I know. It is all in our favour. After 2009 in McHale park, I am delighted with the way the team has risen and I am quietly confident about having a good year this year. Your thoughts?

Seriously, things are indeed looking up! it's the early 90s since i had a feel good factor about my team but as we all know things can quickly change e.g defeat to Leitrim! Fergal O'Donnell & his management team have put in huge work to get us back on our feet & they deserve nothing but our gratitude
This is still a very young Roscommon team mostly under 24 & this current team won't reach their peak for another 2/3 years in the meantime one step at a time & if we stumble along the way it's important to remember Rome wasn't built in day.

there is no reason why we cant win connacht again-if we beat leitrim and mayo also get to c.f we would have home advantage and a point to prove from 09.bearing in mind we played in division 4 this year realistically we could not expect to get much further but we need to take it a game at a time and with ALOT of luck we will in croker in september

What do you mean "too small"?? it can hold up to 30,000 for a Connacht final.

The 2001 final was in Hyde park. Greatest day of my life. 28,000 people thronged into the hyde to see Gerry Lohans last second goal. Unbelievable.

As was the 2007 Connacht final, even if Leitrim beat us on Sunday, the Connacht final will be in Hyde park as Leitrim always choose it.
