Return to play 


There was great excitement among our under-age players returning to action over last weekend none of this would be able to happening with out the plans and guidance from Croke Park, Offaly GAA and Rhode GAA  Covid-19 Planning committee of Chairman John Kilmurray, Secretary  Eoghan Hickey, Under-age Chairman Ger Noonan, Under-age Secretary Tracey Murphy, Coaching Officer Joesph kIlmurray and the assistance of Health and Safety Officer Gordan Kerrigan who have been putting in great work planning and organising the return to play for all our teams. Fr. Dowling is well equipped now with Drop off points, Sanitation points etc. Massive Thanks must also go to the parents, players and managers for following all guidance making the transition easier 

Covid Return To Play Guidance 

Key elements required for all Rhode Players  to return to Play and to adhere to GAA Guidelines;



Each player must be a Registered Member of the Club.  All current Members and anyone that paid fees already are already Registered.  If your Membership is outstanding please make arrangements to pay ASAP.  Membership  can be paid to the following membership officers listed, John Kilmurray Mary Hannon Patricia McManus,  Ger Noonan, Eoghan Hickey Regina Swaine, Oliver Murphy, Jody Kilmurray, James Murphy , John Glennon ,Tracey Murphy , Robert Kellaghan Orla Kilmuuray. 

The Membership Rates are as Follows:

Player ( including Insurance)- €80

Family (2 adults and all Children)-  €80

Single Adult- €40

Student /student player -€30

Juvenile -€30

O.A.P,s - €5




Every Player or Parent of an underage player, backroom team member & Committee Member must complete the GAA's Return to Play E-Learning Module.  The Module can take 20 mins and is very detailed.  Try and focus on the area relevant to you and then progress to the Quiz to complete the module.  It can be accessed by visiting our website or social media pages 


Every Player or Parent of an underage player, backroom team member & Committee Member must complete the GAA's Return to Play Health Check Questionnaire.  This ONLINE Check must be completed ONCE prior to returning to play.  The LINK will be available HERE from Monday 22nd June.

The following changes to the return to activity guidelines are being made after recommendations from this morning’s Covid-19 Advisory Committee.

 These changes were subsequently endorsed by the GAA, the Camogie Association and the LGFA.

 This week: 

Open pitches for Adult training next Wednesday, June 24th. 

Open for Minor and below from Saturday, June 27th.

Both of the above on a non-contact basis and on the understanding that players and all participants have completed the eLearning module and are following the control measures in place (health questionnaire etc).

On the basis of a maximum of 15 players in a designated area of the field (26 Counties) and 10 players in a designated area of the field (6 Counties).

Coaching numbers for underage teams to be consistent with Code of Behaviour. 

From June 29th:

Allow contact training and challenge games for all from Monday, June 29th (26 Counties).

We await guidance from the NI Executive in relation to 6 Counties – non-contact training in the numbers outlined above in the interim.

We also await clarification on what will constitute a close contact versus a casual contact.

Restriction on participants-only attending training sessions to be relaxed from June 29th – subject to government specified maximum of 200 people in the ground. 

Allow Club Fixtures from Friday July 17th.

No change to inter-county dates (Sept 14th for training; competitions to start on Oct 17th as planned).

All control measures for players, coaches and other team personnel (completion of health questionnaire, eLearning education etc) is to remain in place until advised otherwise; dressing rooms to remain closed until July 20th

The Advisory Committee is considering the position in relation to other GAA buildings (such as Club bars that are serving food, Gyms, Handball alleys etc). Guidance will be provided in this context before June 29th.

200 Club Draw 


We are continuing with our Rhode GAA Supporters Draw to Aid our Planned Development for our Grounds . Entering this draw will provide you with the chance to win 1st prize €1000 & 5 chances to win €250 in each draw and there are 5 draws taking place throughout the year. That’s a total of 30 chances to win over the year. The Draws will be held on the following dates while adhering to the strict HSE/Government and GAA Guidelines:

• 3rd August

• 22nd August

• 24th October 

• 19th December

  The Rhode GAA Lotto Jackpot is €12,200 and it took place on the 22md of June.   The Draw took place while adhering to  Strict Guidelines   

The numbers drawn out were: 2 10 16 24

There were two match three winners who won €100 each.
