Cycle For Dreams
From Tuesday 26th May until the 30th May 2020, Stephen Darby, former All Ireland winning footballer with Offaly and Rhode and former Offaly GAA and current Rhode footballer Paraic Sullivan take on the mammoth task of a 5 day continuous cycle in aid of the Make A Wish foundation and Rhode GAA.
This @cycle4dreams2020 challenge will mean that either cyclist will be on the bike for 5 days straight. Each cyclist will cover a distance of 1000km, a whopping 2000km collectively.
They will cycle in 6 hour sessions going through the night in order to raise vital funds for the amazing charity Make A Wish who help create amazing life long memories for children who are sick and battling difficulties circumstances.
Furthermore, the money raised will generate funds to help Rhode GAA club to progress and grow and be a continued success. A club that connects the community from young to old and is the focal point of the village and beyond.

Our facilities (walking track, pitch, hall or gym) will not be reopening on Monday the 18th and will remain closed until July 20th unless directed otherwise by the GAA after consultation with the HSE & Government.

We are continuing with our Rhode GAA Supporters Draw to Aid our Planned Development for our Grounds . Entering this draw will provide you with the chance to win 1st prize €1000 & 5 chances to win €250 in each draw and there are 5 draws taking place throughout the year. Secondary school Students
Best wishes all the students in the parish finishing up for the Summer or starting a new beginning in their lifes beyond school. It's not been easy couple of months but there a better days ahead when you will get to meet your friends again. Best of luck in the exams.
Stay Safe
We hope all in our community are keeping safe and well. We urge you all to play your part in this war against the invisible virus. Please observe social distancing advice and follow guidance from government, HSE and reliable sources. There is much scaremongering and false information doing the rounds also, so be careful and use good judgement.
Look after yourself, your family and your neighbors. Especially those who are at greater risk. If you or someone you know, needs some help with getting groceries or medication, speak to members of our club and we will do our best help out.
Sympathy
Deepest Sympathy is extended to the Murphy & Finnerty families on the Passing of John Finnerty Carrow Elphin Rosscommon/Tipperary. John is a brother of the Late Marie Murphy Laurence town. and Uncle of our Vice Chairman Oliver Murphy.
Sympathy is also extended to the Doolan, Joyce and extended Families on the Passing Of Helen Joyce nee Doolan Dublin formerly of Rhode.
Helens Funeral took place in St,Peters Church Rhode on Thursday afternoon last .
