A Night at the Races.

Friday 28th December. “A Night at the Races” in Gussies, Ballycumber.

Preparations are at an advanced stage for the Night at the Races in Gussies on Friday 28th December. The Club wishes to thank all the generous sponsors of the races and urge all members to support those businesses where possible. The list of sponsors to date is as follows; Michael Egan, Brian McManus Pharmacy, Minnock Building, Kelly Fitted Furniture, Gussies, Bracken Truck Parts, Simon Casey Music, The Gav Inn, Bracken Brothers, Flynn’s of Grogan, Hussey Fraser Solicitors, Proline Agencies, Kelly Tarmac.

We wish to acknowledge generous sponsorship of prizes by Eddie Rockets.

There are some Horse Owners and Jockeys awaiting a buyer but, the list is filling up fast.

The raffle on the night will have a first prize of a one night stay at the 4STAR Hotel Kilkenny for two including breakfast, a bottle of wine when dining in the Taste Restaurant, homemade chocolates and access to the Leisure Centre

A Christmas Gift Idea.

GAA National Club Draw 2019.

Tickets at 10 euro each are now on sale for the GAA National Club Draw 2019 with prizes ranging from a Renault Clio, Shopping and Travel Vouchers, to All Ireland Finals packages including match tickets, overnight accommodation and dinner for two in the Croke Park Hotel. Please support this fund raising draw as all funds raised remain with the Club.

Table Quiz.

The Christmas Party Table Quiz in Flynn’s of Grogan on Friday night was a great success. We wish to thank Gary and Rachel Doolin for the questions and Peter Flynn and Staff for their hospitality and all who contributed to an enjoyable occasion.

Ballycumber Dance Class.

Learn how to Jive, Waltz, Quickstep, Foxtrot and Line dance. Dance Classes every Monday night from 8pm in Ballycumber Community Centre.  Beginners class 8 - 9, Improvers from 9 - 10 and dancing for all from 10 - 11pm.  Great exercise and good fun, no partners required.

Lotto.

The numbers drawn this week were 1,17,18,29. No jackpot or match three winners. 10 Christmas Draw winners. Next week’s draw will be held in Flynn’s of Grogan on St Stephens night for a jackpot of 11,900 euros.

Christmas Carol Service.

The fifty members of the St Manchans Community Choir performed a selection of Christmas Carols in St Manchans Church, Boher on Friday evening. The recently reformed Choir were in great voice and received rapturous applause from the audience. There has been a long tradition of outstanding Choirs in Boher and the Community Choir are certainly continuing that tradition. After the service ended, there were refreshments served in The Granary by committee members Claire Connelly and Caroline Larkin.
