Ballycumber GAA Club notes

November 20, 2018

Save the Date.

Friday 28th December 2018. Race Night in Gussies in aid of Ballycumber GAA Club.

History.

Ballycumber History Group is still researching the soldiers from Ballycumber area who fought in World War 1. The records of many soldiers were lost in the bombing blitz of London during World War 2 and as a result researchers have to rely on information being passed down through families. The Reilly family from River St. Ballycumber saw four brothers going to war, Joseph joined the Lanchasire Regiment, Willie and Michael joined the Connaught Rangers and Charles joined the Royal Field Artillery. They were sons of Stephen Reilly who was a shoemaker in the Village. We would welcome any information about the brothers or their families.
