'Players were drinking behind our backs' - Murphy

Offaly football selector Martin Murphy has revealed that 'major discipline problems' were the main reason behind the Faithful County's disappointing exit from the Tommy Murphy Cup last Saturday. Offaly turned in a dismal display against Wicklow but Murphy has stated that players did not prepare properly for the clash and admitted that they were drinking in the lead up to the game. "There were major discipline problems with players such as drinking behind our backs. If players cannot be honest with management, they could at least be honest with themselves. "Last Saturday's display left a sour taste in my mouth," Murphy said.
