The late John Rigney The passing of John Rigney, Park, Banagher on the 22nd March, 2007 after a short illness, was received with great sadness in the area. He was in his 86th year having lived out a long and fulfiled life in his native Park. John was a great family man is mourned by his loving wife Mary, son Sean, daughters Mary and Margaret, daughter in law, sons in law, grandchildren, brothers, nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. He will always be remembered for his love of sport, having played both on the Ballivor and Shannon harbour hurling teams. His passion for the game of hurling and local events lef him to compose many a verse that will no doubt keep his memory in our hearts. Most of his life was spent farming his land with his wife Mary, he loved nature and got great enjoyment from the simple things in life. His friendly and kind t gained him the respect of a wide circle of friend which was evident by the large attendance at the Requiem Mass, so beautifully celebrated by Fr Simon Cadam. His burial took place afterwards in the local cemetery. May he rest in peace. 31st March 2007 Tweet
