The late Joe Malone
The death took place on Tuesday, February 13th, 2007 of Joseph (Joe) Malone, late of Ballinahemmy, Clonaslee. Joe, who died in Tullamore Hospital, was a very popular man throughout the area. In his late eighties Joe was very active throughout the area. In his late eighties Joe was very active throughout his lifetime and even when in ill health he kept up with local sports going to all local matches and travelling to Dublin and other venues for important GAA matches.
Full of fun and a ready sense of humour Joe had many friends in the area both young and old and enjoyed a great social life.
A life time president of the Clonaslee GAA club, Joe had been involved with many local clubs and organisations throughout his lifetime.
His remains were removed to his home where he was in repose. Removal took place to St Manman's Church and burial took place in Clonaslee cemetery following requiem Mass. The cortege was accompanied by Guards of Honour made up of the Clonaslee/St Manman's GAA and the Clonaslee branch of Fianna Fail. The deceased is mourned by his wife Brid, daughter Marion, sons Jackie, Padraig, Niall and Fergus, grandchildren, son in law, daughters in law and a wide circle of extended family relatives and friends, to all of whom the deepest sympathy of the community is extended.
