The late Tess Kennedy The death has taken place of Tess Kennedy, Gilroy Avenue, Edenderry. She died at her daughter Geraldine's house in Greystones, Co. Dublin, and was buried at St Mary's Cemetery in Edenderry. She is survived by her daughters Geraldine, Cora and Carol, all of whom are mon based in Dublin, and her sons Austin, Donegal and Dominic, Boston, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by several decades by her husband Desmond, a former Leinster Leader Edenderry correspondent. Mrs Kennedy was 88. Tess, nee Coughlan, was form a well-established and known family in the Edenderry area. Her father was the station master at Edenderry Railway Station which closed in the early 1950's. Her brother John was heavily involved in the ESB in Edenderry. Tess was a long time member of the ICA, the local Historical Society and the local GAA, especially camogie. She was honoured a number of years ago with a place in the Edenderry GAA Hall of Fame Award. Her involvement in the eh GAA has carried on to the next generation with her son Austin's role as the Donegal football team doctor. A guard of honour was formed at her funeral by the local ICA.
