The late Tom Hynan Local man Tom Hynan died following a brief illness on Tuesday, May 8, 2006. His death occurred in the Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Living in the village all his life he was an employee of Board Na Mona for most of his working years and was in a supervisory role for a number of years prior to retirement. He was a prominent member of the local GAA club and played in various grades in his career. He was also a member of Clonbullogue Development Association for many years and supported the annual Steam Threshing until recently. Mr Hynan maintained his interests in gardening all his life which was demonstrated effectively at his residence and was the subject of favourable comment in many a Tidy Town report. Removal of remains took place from Maher's Chapel of Rest to the Sacred Heart Church, Clonbullogue and was followed by Requiem Mass, concelebrated by Very Rev. P Gaynor an Rev. P Dunne. Internment took place in Cloncarne Cemetery. He is survived by his wife Ann, sons Thomas Ger, Paul and John, daughters Marie, Annette and Veronica, grandchildren, relatives and friends to whom sympathy is extended.
