Mary Wright The death took place in Navan Hospital on December 16 of the late Mary Wright, St. Mary's Terrace, Daingean at the wonderful age of 90 years. Deceased was a most kind and loving person and a great neighbour. She had a great sense of humour and she enjoyed a chat and a laugh with all of whom she some in contact with during her long life. She was a most religious person who always attended to her religious duties up to the end. She was a keen gardener all her life. Her removal from Larkin's Funeral Home on Saturday evening attended, to Mary Mother of God Church, Daingean. On Sunday the Church was crowded for her Funeral Mass which was celebrated by Very Rev. Fr. O'Byrne PP, Daingean. Her funeral afterwards to St. Mary's Cemetery was one of the largest there for some time, which bore eloquent testimony to the high esteem in which she was held by all. A guard of honour was provided by members of Daingean GAA club who walked on each side of the hearse from the church to her last resting place as a mark of respect. Deep sympathy is extended to her sorrowing sons, daughters, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, brother, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and a large circle of friends. The Offaly and Daingean colours were flowing as a mark of respect. Courtesy of the Offaly Express 21 December 2005
