Kane, Maureen

February 22, 2006
Johnny Cronin and Maureen Kane Ballyfore GAA Club lost one of its longest serving members recently, with the sad passing of Maureen Kane. No amount of words can describe what Maureen brought to Ballyfore, she gave up their time and energy to bring our club to where it stands today and that we are forever grateful. To say she was known far and wide would be an understatement and the immense respect that she was held in the community and was evident. Maureen first came to Ballyfore in the 1960's and it wasn't long until her and her husband Dan settled into the area and became involved in the club and the community. Maureen was known not only locally but outside the county for the tremendous fundraising work she did for Ballyfore and all the other charities in the area. Words cannot sum up the amount of work she did for the Ballyfore Club and we as an organisation are forever thankful. A woman with heart of gold, a kind and generous person, Maureen helped everyone that crossed her path and her generosity and god deeds will never he forgotten. Maureen battled until he bitter end and even through her illness she still put peoples lives and our club ahead of her own. Ballyfore GAA Club extends Deepest Sympathy to the Kane Family. We thank Maureen for so many happy memories and you will be forever in our thoughts and prayers. May you rest in peace Maureen.
