Offaly 1-19
Carlow 0-10
Conor Molloy was on target with nine frees as Offaly opened their Leinster MHC campaign with a 12-point victory over Carlow on home soil this evening.
The gulf in class between these two sides was obvious throughout the O'Connor Park clash and the Faithful County turned around for the second-half with a 0-12 to 0-5 cushion.
JP Cleary netted their goal after the resumption and also chipped in with two points for good measure while Liam Langton and Eoghan Cahill contributed three points apiece to the winning tally.
Offaly will now face Kilkenny or Dublin in the next round while Carlow will have to travel to Westmeath in the qualifiers.
