Minor Football League Final
Edenderry Minor Footballers are the Offaly League Champions for 2013 following a comprehensive victory over Clara in the final played at Edenderry on Wednesday evening last.

Edenderry were strongly fancied for this game following victories over Rhode, St Broughan's and St Vincent's.
The Reds started the game at a blistering pace and quickly built up a big lead with goals early in the game. They led 3-05 to 1-02 after just 20 minutes of the game and by half time had added a further goal to lead by 12 points on a 4-05 to 1-02 scoreline.
In the second half a Clara comeback looked on the cards briefly when the goaled in the first minute however Edenderry quickly steadied the ship to regain control of the game and win comfortably on a 5-12 to 3-03 scoreline.
Edenderry team captain Mathew O'Grady then accepted the Minor League Trophy from Mary Dunne, Secretary of Offaly Coiste na nÓg.

Scoil Brid Gaelic Football Marathon
Edenderry GAA Club in conjunction with Scoil Bhride Parents Association ran a Gaelic Football Marathon on Friday 17 May 2013 to raise funds for Scoil Bhride.

Senior players Keith Guinness, Stephen Guing & Stuart Cullen were the organisers along with Bord na nÓg Chairman Willie Forde.
Offaly Goalkeeper and County Coach Alan Mulhall dropped in and Emma Dalton and Christine McDonnell teachers in Scoil Bhride were on hand to represent Offaly Ladies. Christine had the National League Cup with her and the children were delighted to hold it aloft.
Scoil Bhride are lucky as many of the staff are steeped in local GAA including current Ballyfore players Niall Spain and Bobby McDonnell. Well done to all the children and parents for supporting the event that raised a substantial amount of money for the School.
Edenderry BNS are not in a position to run this event this year but when offered suggested that they may do it next year. We look forward to helping all schools.

Edenderry BNS claim Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling Title
Last Wednesday evening in O'Connor Park Edenderry BNS hurlers took to the field to play Ballinamere in the Cumann na mBunscoil Hurling Final.
This was Edenderry's third final in a row having won in 2011 and losing the 2012 final to the same opposition.
The young Edenderry boys played with great intensity and defended very well in the first half. At half time they were just a single point behind having played against a very strong wind.
With the wind on their backs in the second half Edenderry began to control the game and as the saying goes goals win games. So it was to be with Edenderry getting the scores at vital times to secure their second title in three years on a 4-05 to 2-03 scoreline.
Well done to all the players involved and to Mr Ger Ryan who puts in a tremendous amount of work with the boys each year.
CÚL REDZ
Our CÚL REDZ Coaching Nursery is running every Saturday for Football at 10.30 and Thursday for Hurling at 6pm. The programme is delivered by a group of club coaches including some of our Senior players and occasionally some of our County Stars drop in to help out.
Our nursery concentrates and is delivered through the GAA ABC/Have a Ball Nursery Programme, It involves a series of fun based exercises to develop movement skills for children aged 4-8 years old. These skills form the basis for the later development of the specific skills of Hurling and Gaelic Football. The level of competency with which one can perform these skills is referred to as their level of physical literacy.
