SHC gets underway
May 10, 2013
The 2013 Offaly SHC kicks off this evening (Friday) when holders Kilcormac/Killoughey meet former kingpins Birr in a mouth-watering clash at Banagher (throw-in 7.30pm).
It's been barely six weeks since the Double Ks suffered a heart-breaking defeat to St. Thomas' in the All-Ireland club final, and it will be interesting to see how they will respond. Danny Owens is still manager and his troops will need to be fully focused if they're to overcome Johnny Pilkington's side.
St. Brendan's Park hosts a double-header tomorrow which sees Tullamore taking on Drumcullen (5pm) and Seir Kieran up against Brosna Gaels (6.30pm). There is another double-header in Birr on Sunday afternoon. Coolderry meet Belmont in the first game at 2pm, and this will be followed by the clash of St. Rynagh's and Shinrone at 3.30pm.
Later on Sunday (7pm), Kinnitty and newly-promoted Lusmagh face off in Rath.
