Killeigh GAA notes

May 16, 2012
JHC A: Killeigh lose out on goal difference.
Kinnitty 1-11: Killeigh 0-11.
Killeigh lost out to a second half goal, in their opening championship game in Kinnitty, last Monday night. Killeigh played very well in the first half and the sides were level at 0-6 each, thanks to Padraig Horan's 3 pointed frees, and points from Alan Plunkett, Craig Kelly, and Mark Egan.
In the second half Killeigh were just a point behind the hosts, 0-11 to 0-10, when Kinnitty scored their goal. Killeigh managed to reduce the difference to 1-11 to 0-11, but were unable to close the gap, despite many scoring opporunities, and continued pressing up to the end.
Scorers: Padraig Horan 0-5:(frees) Mark Egan and Nigel Cunningham 0-2 each: Alan Plunkett and Craig Kelly 0-1 each.
