Shamrocks GAA Notes
August 24, 2010
Lotto:
The numbers drawn on Monday night were 5, 6, 7 and 30. There was one lucky match three winner of €200: Declan Guilfoyle, Mucklagh (Gret Guilfoyle). Next week's jackpot prize will be €9 000 and the draw will be held in Kelly's Roadhouse. Thanks to the Thatch for hosting the draw this week.
Senior Football:
The senior footballers take on Tullamore this Saturday evening in Tubber at 6.00pm. All support would be appreciated as they bid to make the knockout stages of the championship.
Senior Hurling:
The senior hurlers were defeated by Kinnitty in Banagher on Thursday evening last on a score line of 3-14 to 0-11. With 12 minutes to go in this game Shamrocks trailed by two points, 0-10 to 0-08, but faded badly.
It is important all players make a commitment to training in the coming weeks.
Junior Hurlers:
The junior hurlers put up a good display on Saturday evening last against Seir Kieran and ended up drawing on a score line of 2-12 to 1-15. There were some excellent displays by players who perhaps should probably be playing more often.
Official GAA Membership Cards:
This year the GAA have launched an official membership card to all members of the association. If you have not yet received yours, you can do so by contacting the club registrar Brian Kearney on the club phone in the coming days.
School:
The best of luck to all students who are setting out on their return to school in the coming days. Best wishes for the coming year.
Wedding Bells:
Congratulations to senior hurler Kevin Cummins and Louise Hewson who got married in Daingean church on Saturday last with their reception afterwards in the Tullamore Court hotel. We wish them both the very best of luck for the future.
