Leinster hurling final moved to Tullamore

November 24, 2009
Tullamore will have home advantage for next Sunday's Leinster club hurling final against holders Ballyhale Shamrocks after the Leinster Council last night switched the decider from Portlaoise. Ballyhale agreed to the move as there are fears that Portlaoise will not be able to stage two games next weekend due to waterlogging. The footballers of Portlaoise and Clara return to O'Moore Park on Saturday to replay their Leinster semi-final which was abandoned just after half-time last Sunday when the pitch because unplayable. Entry to Saturday's re-fixed football game will be free, and both clubs have been asked to wear their county colours this time because their jerseys are so similar. Both Leinster games will throw-in at 2.15pm. Meanwhile, Connacht Council secretary John Prenty is confident the province's club football final between Charlestown and Corofin, which was postponed last weekend, will be able to go ahead at Charlestown's Dr O'Hara Park this Sunday. "There is a very good surface there, the weather has dried up already and it should be alright," he said.
