RANAFAST CUP FINAL

(Oldest Posts First)

I had the pleasure of being in Inniskeen last night to witness one of the best team performances I have seen in many a day from Patrician High School Carrickmacross. Despite the bitter chill this was an exhibition of all that is good in Gaelic Football. St. Macartan's were outplayed all over the field and ended on the wrong end of a 1 - 18 to 2 - 6 scoreline ,their 2 goals coming in the last few minutes. The high school were an extremely well balanced outfit but they had outstanding individuals in Andrew Woods Inniskeen, Liam Murray and Barry Kieran Magheracloone and Sean Burns Corduff. The balance of power in underage football has swung to the south of the county and it will be interesting to see how this is reflected in the county minor teams of the next few years.

There is always a couple of Kingscourt (subs mainly this time) and Meathhill (Slevin and Mc Mahon, county standard) lads on the High School teams, 5 from Magheracloone the rest a good spread from the South Monaghan clubs. Don't know much about the SEM.

Interesting to hear Dunne's post match interview here
