Support the Ladies

(Oldest Posts First)

Why is the Monaghan Co board not getting behind our ladies. It's a disgrace they going ahead with the senior semi finals on the day of the all Ireland. The people of Monaghan and all you true GAA people should all be in Croker on Sunday week 29th.

It would be a real shame for a brilliant year to be ruined by this silly issue.

Double header in Grattan Park the saturday evening, first game at 5-30pm second at 7-00pm,simple.

What a year it would be if our ladies could win the All Ireland, they deserve our support and everyone deserves a chance to see all these 3 games on that weekend.

So do the right thing County Board...........MOVE THE SEMI'S.

What's the story all league matches changed 2 Sunday morning at half 11? Monaghan GAA really don't want anyone supporting the ladies, all games should be boycotted

agree totally with madman its a joke unreal to think that the country board have fixed games for 11:30 sun morning. ALL CLUBS DO THE RIGHT THING AND REFUSE TO PLAY. the ladies deserve our support.

Looking at the ladies final today our girls didn't look as sharp as usual, Cork were the fitter team imo

Yeh fitness seemed to be were it was lost , few of the girls even crampin up with 10 mins to go !

Our kick outs were far to slow compared to the cork kick outs.We missed the boat big time today.

Thoughts on game.

Monaghan Ladies too light in comparison to the power of Cork.
Monaghan went forward at a slower pace to Cork allowing them to get back and defend in numbers
Have no idea why they didn't push up on Cork kickouts, the majority of kickouts went unchallenged which allowed Cork to build
why did they persisted with a left footer hitting frees on the left side of the field, u may score 1 or 2 but overall u usually miss more than you'll score(especially the 13 yard free midway through the second half)
Fitness levels were seen to be inferior to Cork with many of the girls going down with cramp.

Thought management were slow to react to a lot of what was going on on the pitch, esp the kickouts

A great full back line with some suberb tackling on show
Two super points by Caoimhe Mohan in the first half
Showed good spirit to get themselves back in the game after Cork had went 5 ahead.

A heroic effort by the ladies but truth be told, we could have lost that game by 10 points. Cork were by far the superior side in terms of ability and fitness. Only some magnificent defending by us and Kildare like shooting by them kept the game tight.

A huge effort by the women's team, losing only by the narrowest of margins.

The were plenty of heroes on display. Thank you for a wonderful year.

Hard luck to the ladies yesterday. You have done the county proud this year, and were in a kick of the ball to win it. I think we probably were unlucky with a few decisions re sin binning and substitutions that could have been the difference. Hopefully with that in mind that the girls will take a bit of belief from it, to know they were good enough, and to push on now next year.
