Mayo seem to be going quietly about their business this year..they are my dark horses for the All Ireland this year. Just wanted to know how the people of Mayo are feeling about their chances of winning Sam?

James Horan seems to have a good squad together..if Mayo can stay injury free I reckon they have a great chance this year. Anyone else agree?

Did you watch the League final. Mayo were lacking in physique and good big forwards. They are very mobile and have a pretty good defence but overall lack the physicality.

Well people and pundits were somehow tipping kildare to go far and we all know what happened yesterday and the same hype is following the dubs and their no great shakes either. I thinkif Mayo can creep to quaters quitely and dont draw to much attention then we can be there or there abouts. Probably Corks to lose even though they arent reignin champs.

Mayo, Dublin, Donegal and Cork prov champs and hopefully the 4 qualifiers (bar kerry) arent to challenging.

Mayo are a great each way bet at current odds. They are on a different planet in football terms from any other Connaught team. They are improving with every game and have not showed their full hand at all yet...

Connaught??? Improving with every game...they only played 1!! and its hard to show your full hand in 1 game. Mayo will probably win Connacht but they are not that far ahead of Sligo or Galway. Overall Connacht football standard isn't great and I would be suprised if any Connacht team got apast the last 8, unless mayo got really lucky in Qtr final draw and avoided, likes of Kerry, Tyrone, Kildare or Antrim

If u do fancy them there is a bit of value e/w if u take the 1/2 odds on 2 places Boyles, Ladbrokes & Stan james offering. don't bet with Paddy powers or bet 365 who are going 1/3 of odds. That means ur getting 7/1 on them reaching the final while bookies are only going 5/1 or 4/1 on them reaching the final in seperate market

first off your English is poor, it should be "Mayo's chances are 100 times better"

secondly chances are 100 times better ?? so Mayo are 14/1 times 100 = 1,400/1

will you give me 1400/1 so on Galway winning Sam? I'm starting to think the 12 does stand for your age

To be honest I don't think Horan and Mayo should be overly worried about anybody... we need to get our own performance right and that will be the focus.. If we perform to our potential we can take anyone... starting with Sligo in the Hyde on Sunday week

A kerryman taking up a mayo team.....it wouldn't be the first time aidan64 ;) - In fact kerry are keeping a low profile themselves. I think we can beat anyone but then again we always have been able to do that. We had a decent league but lost another final in croker which puts a grain of doubt in the back of minds. We looked yards of the pace against cork at times in that game but were just back from a training camp so its hard to Judge. I would be quietly confident of making a semi final again this year.

How do you think Kerry will go this year? - Cant see westmeath causing you too much trouble and except the kingdom in Dublin on the August bank holiday.

P.S Why is the Galway and Sligo lad getting so riled up about this thread.....concentrate on your own teams lads, ye must feel very insecure when ye fell the need to have a pop at Mayo all the time.

Yew_Tree I do get riled up when i hear Mayo on about winning Sam.... Every year. Its become so repititive and Mayo don't have the team (esp Midfield) to win an AI

Ye have the best team in Connacht no doubt (doesnt mean ye will neccessarily win Connacht tho) however every year ye get yer hopes up...this is our year..Best Mayo team yet, one post even said "Of former Mayo greats only Mac and Willy Joe would make the current starting 15.."

Ye beat a Leitrim team that had players drop out of panel, disciplinary problems and all of a sudden its the best chance ever for mayo to win an AI. Never mind that Cork are flying, Donegal look some unit, Kerry are far from finished (Sheehan big loss against Cork) and ye have to get over a hard working, fast paced Sligo team yet

There is 3 or 4 people on this thread more deluded than farmer2 ;)

"Muscles" something you wouldnt associate with a sligo team, but anyway. Mayo you say have no midfield, will you come out of cuckoo land sligo A OShea and R McGarrity any team in the country would be glad to have them. Mayo to make a mockery of sligo and will push on for SAM!!!!!!!

Anyway Mayo are best team in Connacht and will push on to semis even if we get though draw,(look wat we did to Cork last year) and we are improving with each game as weve done in da league, we had more than one game, get ur facts straight muscles. Dont be having go at young NP12.

Ye'll b all following us as soon as ye are out of silly qualifiers.
