Think Kilmaine could shock Davitts.
Everyone knows Kilmaine are a right good championship team so it'll be no shock at all to Davitts when they come out will all guns blazing...

Cranky360 County: Mayo Posts: 768 My dear firend, no problem here with Kiltimagh............I know a lot of the lads and have had plenty of sessions with some of them. Sound lads, so nothing against them. It's just a coincidence that certain people here have been knocking less established teams constantly and in a petty way. These same guys seem to be the ones who tipped Kiltimagh to win the Championship from the start.
Paranoid much? :P ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Nah buddy just thought I sensed a tone in your previous comment about Kiltimagh. Obviously I was wrong, apologies.

Down to four...Burrishoole, Parke, Davitts and Ballyhaunis. Anyone see the replay of Burrishoole and Hollymount-Carramore by any chance?

November, yeah, i saw it. It was a very bad match in rainy greasy conditions, which didn't help. Carramore/Hollymount were all over them in the 1st half, missed a lot of very scoreable points, but then gave away a very stupid goal and some points. I'd imagine Mc menimen must have been extremely pleased at half time, then in the 2nd half the very same thing happened, but the men in green upped their effort in this half. I know it was only intermediate but the skill levels and football was very, very bad, the Mayo panelist was playing, but you would have to be told. All in all, maybe a fair result, but when you make presents of goals (and wrapped up presents they were), then you are in trouble. On yesterdays performance, the winners will not be feared by ANYONE. The referee must have given out all the yellow cards he was allowed, most had no need to be given, poor job as well. Hope this helps you November.
By the way, a good crowd turned up, €10 to go in, collected in a box, no programme, this is a laugh in these times. Now, this was a replay, the tenner was twice what it SHOULD have been. Shame on the county board, they'll turn people off the whole bloody thing

Tight game, a lot of frees, due to terrible refereeing and blatant hollymount/carramore diving......BALLYHAUNIS referree in charge of the game....surely he wud hav some biase with ballyhaunis in the semi's already....think its a disgrace a referee from a club that are still in the championship be let ref another game

Bad game in bad conditions. The Burrishoole no.8 was lucky to stay on the field. Blatent fouling and hit a holly/carra player off the ball. So I dont know how he favoured Burrishoole?

Burrishoole to win it pulling up, Div 1A in the league , ex county minor, U21, junior, and present County Senior players just coming into form or back from injury, will be interesting to see how Colm Mac's team performs in Senior,a team to watch. Mac has done agreat job with his players and only lack of beliefe in themselves will stop Burrishoole.

Popup.Your a very naive man/woman if you think Burrishoole will win pulling up.Yes they have a few lads who played county.Big deal.So do Davitts and Ballyhaunis. If there that good they would have won it last year. By all accounts Burrishoole struggled in the quarters so its very hard to see them strolling to a title especially in heavy October conditions.

Have to agree Purejohn, I think we were playing better football this time last year. The lads are at the bottom of Division 1A in the league and even with a game in hand they could be in relegation trouble. (They won 1B last year.) They have struggled in the quarter final, it will be interesting how they do against Ballyhaunis in the semi. They beat them quite easily in the group stages in Newport last year but Ballyhaunis have clearly improved on their performances last year. I'm obviously hoping that Burrishoole will peak for the next two games and will have been battle hardened by the loss to Tourmakeady last year when they were favourites, you have to lose one to win one??? They played very well last year up to the final but perhaps peaked too soon, hopefully they can reverse that trend this year and peak for the next few games???? Any of the four teams left in the competition can take the title this year!

Just about go with Burrishoole to win on Sunday. Last year i had them as hot favourites but they were out played by a well organised unit in Tourmakeady. Was impressed with Davitts in the semi apart from the last 15 mins where they went to sleep and nearly let a limited Parke side back into it. A replay would not surprise me

Final Result: Davitts 0-14 - Burrishoole 0-12. Jason Doherty with 0-10 for Burrishoole and Michael Conroy with 0-6 for Davitts. Ronan McNamara scored a massive free in injury time to put Davitts 2 ahead. Colm Boyle was Midwest Radio man of the match, just edging out Michael Conroy who got the County Board award. Congarts Davitts, best team won on the day.

It was interesting to hear about the Davitts "Monday club". Those clubs were set up in another era by very successful professional soccer players to unwind after a hard weekend playing. They were inevitably followed by savage training on Tuesday. How presumptious of the Davitt players with one win in thirty years to ever contemplate let alone participate in a Monday club.
