Has David had enough?

Ruane a huge loss for us. Has been brilliant consistently since he came in. Our only other natural midfielder is SOS who is coming off an injury and won't last the full 70. Would imagine DOC into midfield for the Down game and McDonagh in the half forwards? Or Cillian in for K Mc and move K Mc out to half? Massive blow and really dents our chances of getting into the super 8s. Down will be a tough test for us.

All the best for the rest of championship. I really do hope yous get over the line and win the AI. We are a bit dissapointed as we had goal chances that we couldn't take tonight but I guess overall yous deserved it as yous always seemed to keep us at arms length. I do think we are going in the right direction and we hopefully we will be challenging you more regularly. Good luck.

Best wishes to Mayo for the rest of the year. Hope that you now go all the way and win the All Ireland. I was very proud of the Down team last night we showed real fight throughout but we were wasteful and had a nightmare on frees and Mayo were much more clinical and deserved their victory in the end. Was nice to see Mayo in Pairc Esler. Fair play to your fantastic fans, really good natured and travelled in huge numbers. Best fans in the country is definitely a fair assessment. All the best for the rest of the year.

Just an observation but seeing as there was plenty of room on the terraces why are fans allowed to line the pitch side fence cutting the view for the lower terracing? As I say it's not a criticism because the whole package of plusses far outweighs this one point. The Down fans were absolutely first class. Knowledgeable passionate and good humoured.
