Great Team id have Hoey instead of Jim and move Obrien and Maguire , although I think some of the current crop will put there hands up over the next couple of years to challenge these lads but all great servants for the Red and White.

Did A.Hoey not retire at end of 2012?
Seemed to be a sub even in 2010 final v Meath.
Great player but best years were behind him this decade.

Hard to argue with the rest of the team.

He did indeed Past Hurler. That is why I did not put him in my team. But I do agree with you his best years were behind him before 2010.

Ollie I would have Brian White at no.9. Tommy should make it this decade if his recent form continues. I also have a problem @ 13. Darren Clarke and Ryan Burns are contenders. Darren would be my choice. Ardee must have a man on best team from Louth
This is good for the memories and what a start with 2010

Why should Ardee have a man on the team? They have only won one Joe Ward in the last 45 years. I am judging players on their form and not from what club they played with? Judgie to me deserves a place on that team of the decade.

It really depends on the terms of selection. If it is for club and county, judgie has to get the nod. If it is only county, its clarkie and to be honest its not really close when you consider how prolific he was, his leinster selections etc. But sure opinions are like a#*&holes as the fella says!

Would you think that Darren Clarkes best years were in the previous decade? (2000-2009). He scored ten points against Monaghan in the qualifiers in 2005. He was the last player to score in double figures in a Championship match till Willy Woods scored 13 points against London in 2018 which is a Louth record for a Championship match.

I believe Darren Clarke gave more to the red jersey in the last decade than C.Judge or Ryan. That's why I picked him. I agree he may have been better in the naughtiest but he followed up with a lot. I'm sure Ryan will the team for this decade.
My remark about Ardee was a through away one and should not upset anyone. It was always a great football town particularly when we were successful .

Not a bother. You are right, Ardee was a footballing hotbed but that was way back late 50s, here and there in the 60s and finished in 1975. Yes one Joe Ward in the last 45 years so safe to say, non existent as such for last 45 years as serious contenders. Take some explaining for them as a club. Good few young prospects now but something tells me, as a club they won't realise this potential. Serial under achievers becomes a habit

St.Marys won Joe Ward in 1995 when they beat St.Pats in final. In 2003 Pats got revenge when they won the replay of the final. Their first of seven Joes to date. I hope the Marys rise again. Just think Patsy Colman.

So it's down to Joe Wards well how many Joe wards has Kilkerley, the Gers, the Martins, the Irelands to see Shane, Jim, JP& Mick and Derek make the team. Darren's FORM for the Marys was second to no other...

You can't keep a good thing down Snapper. If you see Kikfada and MR on your travels tell them to come back on here. Both are badly missed.

The rumours in the Bull last night was that the Snapper is putting his hard earn catch on the Dreads this year to finally win Joe Ward.
