Fixture Schedule Shambles "Is The County Team Really Worth The Inconvenience"

(Oldest Posts First)

The county board blame our county teams for not being able to produce a "Yearly Club Fixtures Schedule".

Surly we must see progress, ambition, success or at the very least improvement from our county teams/players before we are asked once again to put 1000's of club players lives on hold..... For far to long our only reward for such sacrifice has been the complete failure of our County team set ups at every level, to the extent that many of our best players have retired early or simply opt not to play for the county.

Its not that long ago that county players were able to play all scheduled games for their clubs with no major upheaval to fixtures, and Wee were a lot more competitive and ambitious back then.

The problem is not the inter county fixture dates but rather the restrictions imposed on players in regards to the preparation timetable for these games. I believe a proper a never changing yearly fixtures schedule can easily be easily created if we take a harder line on inter county fixture preparations.

So the question is .....is the County Team really worth all the inconvenience and disruption to the fixtures schedule ?

You mean July 11th 2010? Unless you went on the beer the day beforehand?

For the last 5 years Louth gaa has gone backwards and that's a fact..

The time is now here for a change and it is going to happen.

A new dawn is near and when this happens the future of Louth GAA is going to be bright

Something has to be done, first thing is to get all our capable people who are out of the loop back into the fold be that players, coaches, administrators business people, there are many who wont get involved if the current incumbents remain.
