Derry hammering a Wexford team that Louth struggled to beat .....Antrim might do the same to Louth.

Thank god I didn't waste my €20 looking at that crap what a disgraceful day for Louth football back to the duldrums now with no underage structure and all teams getting a hiding pretty bleak times. But at least the club football will be all wrapped up now by October hopefully! But the GAA are all happy another few pound in their pockets with the extra gate money.....

My God how.low can we sink? Our under 20s lose all 3 matches conceding big scores in all 3 matches and only scoring a miserable 5 points today. Our Seniors beaten by 8 points by a DIv 4 team. Discipline a major problem again as we finish with 13.
County board fix a whole round a fixtures for Tuesday night only giving clubs a few days notice. I just checked the fixtures and it's that bad we even need to get Meath refs to officiate our games.
Our county is some shambles.

Last night was shocking to watch. Firstly, I don't usually criticise the players but their attitude after going 6 points up was disgraceful. How can you lose by 26 points a few weeks ago yet be arrogant enough to think the game was done when we got a bit of a lead. Secondly, our tactics were shocking. How many times did the ball get laid off to someone being heavily marked and how often were we forced to try a shot from a crazy angle because we didn't have anyone up in support. If your trying a counter attacking style, then you need to have players with the fitness to transition from defence to attack. As disappointing as last night was, the problems extend far beyond one result. Every grade sees our teams lose(and are often hammered). We can't expect those players to fare any better when they reach the senior team. I'm sure next year we will do well to in the league, giving the false impression we are improving but come championship time, we will be found out again.
Here are a few statistics to show how disastrous we are in the championship:
1. Since reaching the last 12 in '07 - only twice have we won at least 2 championship games (2010 and 2013)
2. We have won only 3 qualifier games in the last 12 years - against Antrim, London and Leitrim
3. In the past 2 years, we have been hammered twice by division 4 teams.

How do you all feel today? Putting a positive spin on the state of Louth football is not going to win matches. I take back my earlier comnent about 2 bad teams. It is 1 awful team.
County ground my backside, for what to pay €20 to watch more rubbish. No thanks.

Some lads on here make me laugh. Last week it was oh its all good Louth are improving and we will win. County ground starting, positivity all the way. And now some lads totally contradicting what they said last week.
You know who you are and you have not a clue about Louth football. U20s hammered, U17s hammered, Senior team bet by a Div 4 team. We are a laughing stock.

Joej, i judged us going into the Antrim game based on the results we have had this year. We came within 1 point of promotion and Dublin aside, were competitive in every game we played. I could never have predicted we would sink as low as Saturday's performance. I am not under any illusions that things in the county are great and look at my post last week on the Dublin thread to see that i pointed out the clear issues we have, particularly underage. If you attend every game as i do then you will try to put a positive spin on things but obviously this game combined with the Leitrim one last year should be a watershed moment for the county but won't be.

PK57--This should be a watershed moment.
There is no point waiting until next month, September or until convention. Action is needed now and the chairman should be asked to account for the state of gaa in Louth. The time for pussyfooting around the issues, of which there are many, is long gone.
Action is needed now and the root and branch review is now the only way. Some people at the top table do not like this term but with so many problems, there is a need to clear the decks.
There is a malaise at all levels of play and administration and answers are needed.
Why is the meeting originally fixed for tonight postponed.
Clubs ARE the county board and its about time they stood up and demanded answers and above all change-----because whats currently there is not working.

I do attend every game and coach underage in Louth so don't use that as a BS excuse for your silly comments last week. I am not blaming anyone but if you think that 1 mediocre league campaign puts us in a good position how wrong you are. In recent years under kelly we had good leagues and got promoted, however come cship time same old story, a poor Meath team bet us twice in Parnell Park, Leitrim and Calow and now Antrim. Hardly world beaters.

BTW i did see a few Louth players out socialising for the CLF in Drogheda last week. Maybe celebrating a bit too much.

You are obviously a troll or a very poor judge of things, come to think of it perhaps you are both.

Very disappointed with the way the match turned out especially with the great start that Louth had. Disicpline yet again is letting down the Wee County. Only one win in league and Championship matches in Drogheda in the past two years. Roll on the Louth Club Championships.

Any truth in the rumours that Andy Mc Donnell and Wayne Kierans had a burst up at half time in the Antrim match?
