Antrim beat us by eight points in Drogheda . Kildare beat Antrim by 14 points in Antrim . The gap between us and Kildare is considerable.

The biggest thing is the mentality of the smaller counties. As soon as they lose, the heads are gone. Prime example Armagh, devastated to lose to Cavan but come again to beat Monaghan. That was Louth, Longford etc... they would of been beat out the gate by Monaghan.

Is it because there only ambition is a provincial final? Why not look at getting in the back door of the Super 8s? Look at the teams now 1 game away.

I've said it before, the Culture in Louth needs changing. People accept defeat and already have the excuses lined up. Half the county where saying "get back to the clubs quick" after the Dublin defeat. It's all intertwined & same excuses are already ready to go!

County needs an overhaul right across. Vision, Strategic Plan and Values. Get these down and go from there. No more stop gaps.

Well said and entirely correct however that doesn't get away from the fact that we are some way off Kildare at the moment . The qualifier draw gave us a winnable game at home and we were wiped . Kildare hammered Antrim . They now take on Tyrone in an intriguing game in Newbridge . If we had drawn Tyrone would it be described as intriguing ?

Every year that passes without a plan puts a us a year further away from improving. Minors beat again last week in the Shield! Has anyone noticed the lack of reporting on these games recently, now we all know the PRO is at these games, its my guess that's an instruction from the top to not give the score by score account like we used to get.

In the last four months we beat two of the teams and drew with a third one that are playing in the third round qualifiers next Saturday. If we had won the drawn match we would have been promoted to Division 2 and looking forward to playing a number of supereights in the spring. We were that close . I know the summer results were never as bad but it's not doomsday. Hope springs eternal. Looking forward to next year already. Casey hopefully will be back and Jim and the others will be fully fit. We might be the other half from Dublin. That's what it's all about. In the meantime we have the club championships and all its excitement. Much better than fishing on your own. Who doesn't agree?
