I know how effective Maguire was sweeping last year but I hate seeing him out "doing a job" when I would rather see him out playing football. I'd rather see him playing a line in front of our full forward let Cork worry about him not the other way around. Andy and Downey will drop back and bomb forward all day. Both very versatile footballers by nature. Glad to see Downey getting his start. Every time I see him play he impresses me more. Best of luck to all the lads keep the heads up and play some ball, yous earned our place in Division 2 let's remind everyone how.

This is a difficult but winnable one. We have the potential to get a high score but the defence will have to be alert and make Cork shoot from distance. .No more handy goals conceded or its good night. Surprised that no.1 not changed by Pete. Good luck lads. Repeat '57,

Winnable '61 ? I'm not sure about that.

Looking like we could go the year without a win been a very poor start

With five minutes to go it was winnable even against the odds. Forwards very disappointing. A point apiece by Andy and. Ryan the only return from play of the original six, Not good. Also of the 18 counties in action to-day only the three Ls conceded two goals. We were the losers as Limerick and London drew. We need clean sheets.

Encouraging second half performance but this division was always gonna be tough. We lost too many players going into the league campaign like what Kelly did when he took over. Let's hope it's not gonna be history repeated. There's potential there but division 2 is not the place to learn your trade...simple mistakes and easy turn overs is killing us..
Question: why did so many lads not return to the panel ??? The manager is not a factor unlike what was when Kelly took over so why?????

Very poor performance again ..... our forwards are not performing depending on scores from places balls in each game so far.

Tommy made a big difference when he came on. Disappointing not to take at least one goal opportunity. Alot of positives to be taken from the second half.
Louth had to work really hard for any frees from the ref

Good battling back today delighted with that because it look like it was gonna be a very poor return. Ultimately our current level is Division 3. Be great to make it to be a stable Division 2 team in the coming years but that would be a tough ask and needs a lot if committed players , management and county board. That should be Louths 5 year projection. Get ourselves to that standard

Couldn't agree anymore and I hope this way of thinking is what is all ready in play. Sometimes you have to get knocked back before you step up.

For the first time since 2004, Louth has lost their first three matches in the league. Louth have conceded the most points in the country with 60. (On average that's 20 per match so far). Compare that with their scoring which is 34 (On average that's 11 per match so far). They have the second worse points difference in the country with -26. Leitrim has -28. They have conceded the most goals in the league along with Limerick with 6 and they along with Wicklow are the only teams who have failed to score a goal in the league. Grim reading indeed.

Game was over at half time , and cork took the foot off the pedal a little but still beat is by 6 points . Our forwards can't scre from play only about 2 points from play in each game . We have about 5 free takers but we need to be able to get through and score and yondonthatbwe need more strength . Declan Byrne got a coupl. From play against canvan and he was dropped and I believe has since left the panel. Management willneed to look outside this panel if we are to have any type of credible performance in the championship .
