Terrible news. Brendan - Benny was a ferocious competitor on the pitch and gave great service to the John Mitchells, Naomh Mairtin & Louth. He was an absolute gentleman off the pitch. Thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all who played with him and against him. As Louth Gaels, let's all unite and support Bennys family, friends and the Naomh Mairtin and John Mitchels at this very difficult time. Rest in peace Brendan. You will be sorely missed.

Redzer_Brown, i totally agree, what a turn out to pay their respects to Benny.

We moan and give out at every possible chance we get if its about results, referees, county board, managers etc. But tonight should open everyones eyes to what Louth GAA is all about. every club, fellow players, opposition players, county board officers, referees and supporters all turned out to pay their respect to a great guy.

Unfortunately it takes nights like last night for everyone to come together.

And finally what a club Naomh Mairtin, looked after everyone who turned out.
