I've been reading the various posts and often wonder if any of ye have ever played for Leitrim? If you have you will realise that every time the county plays they get nervous if they are winning with about ten mins to go and feel something is wrong---we should be being beaten--- and consequently relax and let the opposition take over!! We are the cinderella county and act like one. Needless to say a win on 14th will send our supporters into ecstasy for another 2 years at least! Last year it was a win over Sligo that raised spirits and some thought a Connacht title was around the corner. Sligo might do it this year and how could that happen if we beat them last year?/ reason --they have belief -- we havn't.

Sligo have a few decent forwards. Thats why they win a few matches. We cant score more than 10 points in a game and most of that 0-7 is from Mulligan. Can we break the 10 point barrier against Wicklow. If not its curtains because the back line looked like a strainer against Mayo and I could see Wicklow getting at least 2-12.

Leitrim has the ability to win next Saturday and the next round as well. For inspiration they can look to Kilkenny. By population they are on the small side, ranking 21st. But they dominate hurling for the last 12 years like no other team in history. There are other counties with much larger populations; Tipperary, Cork, Dublin and Galway. Some counties like Tipperary and Cork have also had some success in the last 12 years. But Kilkenny has had the most success at winning. Leitrim has the talent and the ability to play a high standard of football and move forward.

Mickeyjoe I dont think Leitrim will have enough in the tank to stop wicklow. the wicklow team has some very strong forwards that score goals and they are fit and powerful leitrim will probably stay with the for first half but second half wicklow will up the ante and move away. I do feel that either of theses team will struggle in the next round which ever of them make it. there is a serious bunch of contenders in the qualifiers that have strength in dept that will be way too much for either sides but saying that if I had to say who is the team more likely to cause an upset in next round It would be Wicklow.
wicklow to win by at least 5 or 6 points

I do agree with you lillymadfan that both Leitrim and Wicklow would have a struggle in the next round. Of course, today for Leitrim's chances rest upon Mulligan. He has a knack for scoring. Plus, if Wicklow double or triple teams him that will free up other forwards to score.

Brilliant, wasn't there due to immingration but listened to John Lynch 1st half and Kevin Blessing 2nd half. Exciting game but Williams, Mulligan and Glancy stood out in the commentary as being the key men in ensuring our victory. Interested in hearing from anyone at it???
