The standard of refs at club games is so bad that some one is going to get badly injured. Are the county board going to wait until some player is badly injured before they act.

I don't care what anybody says all ref's have clubs and players the don't like and hand out there own type of justice when he ref's the club in questions games.

Have to agree with villatown one ref in particular stands out for taking his dislike out on ballinamore, it just discraceful even though the club talked to hubie reynolds who is over the refs.The refs are paid to do the job so they should do the job fairly ,it not fair to the players who train so hard.And should it not be up to the clubs, to vote on who should be ref of the year.So com on refs get fit and do the right thing on the field of play,here is to a good championship may the best team win.

I have noticed that alot of refs are coming to games without some umpires or lines men this is not good enough and who are to blame?

In relation to referees I must say there are some of our referees just not up to scratch, not all. I must address the weight problem that some of these individuals have. Sure in this day and age, the County Boards, have a responsibility, to have referees in good physical shape.I think the County Board would have serious questions to answer. I am not insulting any referee, but only bringing this to the notice of the people, who are in charge of, Leitrim County Board. We are in a period where the dangers of obesity, is been thought in our classrooms. i wish all referees a good championship, and keep up with the play.

What age do the refs retire at,as a few of our refs are old and are struggling to keep up with the play. And then we have the few that are over weight, and are struggling as well.The county board should put them through a fitness program so they will be able 2 keep up with the play,and not be making make the correct calls .

65 and most referees maintain their weight around 15 stone, they never let it dip under that except the few committed ones who read the game so well as they can keep up. Leitrim referees are definitely the worst, have been at many matches at all levels in other counties and ours are by far the worst.

far as i know there is an annual referees fitness exam which is mandatory...except a lot of them dont show up for it

From the few games Ive seen this year so far Derek Moran, Ray McBrien have reffed good games while Brendan Sammon was woeful in one game I seen
