Former Westmeath midfielder David Duffy has expressed his frustration at the trend of suspended players being cleared to play in the provincial club championship.
Duffy will miss Shandonagh's Leinster club IFC first round clash with Kildare champions Twomilehouse tomorrow after being red-carded for a high challenge after only 20 minutes of the Kilpatrick club's county final victory over Milltownpass a fortnight ago.
The Shandonagh captain took the Twitter after it was confirmed that Camross hurler Darrell Dooley had a two-match ban lifted by the Laois Hearings Committee last Monday night, making him eligible to line out against first-time Wexford champions Naomh Eanna in the opening round of the Leinster club SHC on November 4.
Dooley was suspended for his part an incident that left Rathdowney-Errill's Ross King with a bloodied face and needing extensive dental treatment.
Laois hurler gets off 2 match suspension for striking opponent in the face with hurl and is now free to play Leinster club championship. Where is the equality and continuity of county boards uplifting suspensions for club championships? #rawdeal #leinsterchampionship
