went to the finals over the last couple weekends:

in div 1, celbridge are by far and away the best team, well ahead of the chasing pack, and id have dem ta win the championship at a canter...with a massive squad of players to choose from.
Leixlip will feel extremely hard done in the div 2 final, the referee seemed ta do everything in his power to give the advantage to castledrmot who came back to win by 1...dont think they will have the same impact in div 1 as they had last year however.
in div 3 , TMH county players stood out for them today, they are not a div 3 team. would certainly make an impact in div 2.

Whats with all the talk about kilcock ? Id place them about fifth or sixth best out of the division one teams. Celbridge are the team to beat in all fairness but theres other teams coming up that could be knocking on the door in the summer.

Div 3 final was a walk in the park for tmh sherry stood out for me...div 2 final was a cracker Leixlip had it won twice then castledermot were cruising til Leixlip fought back missed a lot of goal chances,referee was a bit harsh on Leixlip had a clear penalty in first half and another in the second.castledermot shooting was class only two wides in the second half.tone went out of the game in the second half.how the castledermot full forward isn't on the minor panel is beyond me scored 1-5 I know he's only under 16 but he has a couple of u16s on it already and this lad is a class act point from the corner was the best Iv seen. When Mahon went off the Leixlip no.6 and out midfield he did damage he wasn't pacey enough for no.6 but out midfield he did damage everything he kicked went over Nolan was great also.both these teams will be dangerous in div 1

Hats off to C'dermot .Leixlip can genuinely feel hard done by by theres hope now that the can make a meaningful impact at minor over the next year or so.I would imagine both go nto the A although there doesnt seem to be much point as its been assumed that Celbridge should be given the trophy now.Wait and see but D2 was a good standard and both finalists will hold their own.

Lads,can't see why Leixlip should feel hard done by.it was a classic game of two halves.Leixlip were up by 7,Castledermot played good football and with some accurate place kicking went ahead by 7.ref awarded penalty to Leixlip with 31'minutes on the clock.Could easily have been a free out.
@ the general u said the ref did everything in his Power to give castledermot the advantage,their FF line was Pulled ragged in the first half which the ref conveniently didn't see.not taking anything from Leixlip,they are a very good team but I feel their game plan was to get the ball to tone,when Castledermot cut off the supply they had no plan B.

Ah now it was a stone wall peno no questions asked. I really do think they could of had another in first half when 14 went crashing through. Sorry I don't know names because the programme was mixed up for Leixlip team. They had a huge problem in the full back line all day long which probly was the catalyst to there downfall. Ball in to tone was plan a but he gave away silly balls which led to scores. Bad decision by line to take no.14 out to midfield as he was causing havoc inside same with 13 didn't touch the ball in second half when he went 3rd midfielder his man did damage out the field and 13 was giving out to everyone around him. Castledermot best were Mahon Nolan no.14 and goalkeeper while leixlips were tone no.11 and no.6 all good players

@cilldara19 - are you suggesting robertstown shouldnt be in division 4? you cant compare that to two mile house if its true they were division one at u16.Its roberstowns first year at minor level away from na fianna and every player bar one or two is underage again next year so they were always going to start in division 4. rathangan also beat robertstown in the league as far as I know so I wouldnt read too much into the scoreline.

Good to see roberstown on there own is Dempsey playing for them

Yeah Dempsey is playing with them alright and the first team as far as I know. Looks a very good prospect.

guys have some respect for other teams, celbridge might be considered favourites but they know too well that its about what happens on the pitch on the day. they are trained ans encouraged to have respect for their opponents.
although they have won a lot over the years they have been beaten by all the teams at some stage. those teams in those games beat them fair and square and there were never any excuses only that the best team won on the day. so its very possible they can be beaten again as naas proved and kilcock and towers were close to doing. thats what makes sport the thing we all love so much....good luck to all and give it your best shot...as del boy says...he who dares wins

I think it is probably a fair overview still think it is ours to lose but there are a few there that are more than capable two of which you mentioned

The confidence and arrogance coming from Celbridge is ridiculous. You'd swear they have it won already. This should be used as a motivating tool by the contenders, them being Athy, Maynooth and Kilcock. Ridiculous some of the stuff Celbridge people are saying on this and its giving them a bad name now.

chilldara 13 just to point out in case you haven't seem any of my previous posts i am not from celbridge. i am a south kildare man living in leixlip for last 10 years for work. refereed a lot of the teams in question and have got to know all the coaches and players, just saying it as it is

@ tarantini.your post (who dares wins) was bang on,when it comes to championship, results are unpredictable,look at c'dermot last year.but To b honest tarantini,I don't think cilldara13 was having a dig at you,it's pretty obvious your an admirer of celbridge,any real supporter would be.no doubt they are the team to beat but have to agree with cilldara13,there is a little bit of arrogance out there.certainly not a one horse race,celbridge r in for a tough championship.with all the hype around them it will spur other teams on.every under dog has it's day.
