Lads Killian Young has to be dropped he was in my opinion SO poor again today!! With all due respect to Westmeanth he is going to come up against much tougher oposition and was roasted today! Surely Donaghy's place will be under pressure for next week as well.
Cooper great game on the 40 second half, we have the best footballer in the country and we have him standing in a corner ............... stick him on the 40........... we have to try something new!

Kerrygold, were you at the game? Did you listen to it? "Disgraceful" is a harsh word.

Lads we've always had rusty qualifiers but do enough to get through and today was the same.
Young certainly is not up to it, jack and management need to rethink this.

Saw the highlights on the Sunday game last night and Kerry seem to have got a very dubious decision for the free that led to Darren O'Sullivan's goal. Westmeath played some great football and were desperately unlucky not to have edged it.

Typical RTE. It was dubious but it was the correct call. I wonder why they didn't show the calls that went against Kerry......hmmmmmmmmmm

He is not too far wrong. Kerry didnt score from play for almost 30 minutes and they were playing with the wind. Not good enough. Need to up our game massively for the Tyrone game or else they will beat us out the gate.
In my opinion Donaghy needs to be dropped. He is always giving the ball away. Would have lost yesterday only for Brian Sheehan again. He is carrying the team this year.

less said the better - but I honestly believe Tyone game will refocus Kerry big time and not having to travel is a big plus. Jack has a lot of thinking to do between now and Saturday.

I know all that but he obviously wasn't there.

Dont think he has to be honest. There are at least 4 players who played V Westmeath who should not get a look in V Tyrone but will still play them. Sick of his experimenting with positions. Next he'll be trying out the Gooch at corner back!!!

It looks to me as if this Kerry side are struggling for motivation a little. Yesterdays display was lame and insipid for 50 minutes, only when they went 6 down and looked dead and buried did the Kingdom start playing. Totally agree on the Donaghy front, he is contributing very little. If Kerry are going to kick 50 yard diagonal balls into the square then he plays, if not he doesn't. He labours too much in possession which isnt conductive for fluent quick attacks. Play Curtin at 14 and Gooch back in the corner. Give the ball in low and fast and Kerry will score well against Tyrone. The Back Line looks very creaky, put Marc back at no3 and bring Enright into the corner. Marc may not be the biggest man but he's the best man to man marker in the country and i'd fancy him all day against Mulligan who's likely to play in there. My team for Sunday;
1) Kealy 2) Enright 3) Marc O'Se 4) Maguire 5) Tomas 6) Brosnan 7) Killian or Crowley 8) Maher 9) Sheehan 10) Galvin 11) Declan 12) Donnacha Walsh 13) Gooch 14) Curtin 15) Darran
Kerry to win by 2 points

CKH: Maybe "Disgraceful" was harsh. I was not at the game. So, maybe there were things that you could see at the game that those of us listening to it were not aware of. However, watching or listening to this team has become excruciatingly frustrating. The management always seems to have the same approach and it appears they often start off with the wrong team and when changes are needed they make the incorrect ones. Yesterday it appeared that Young was getting a roasting. Yet, how long before a change was made. Donaghy was not playing well and no change made. It appeared Donoghue was playing well and yet he was taken off just after scoring a point. At one stage they started kicking in the high ball to Donaghy with no results. This stuff worked years ago but now every team in the country is aware of it and ready for it. Can they come up with any new strategy. What is management seeing that we are not? If it wasnt for Darren yesterday it would have been "good night". He definitely lifted the team when he came on and when he scored that goal. What is wrong with this team? They seem to be playing with no heart or passion? They have the talent and the experience. Yet they are struggling. Why? Can we expect something a lot different against Tyrone?

We stumbled and stuttered yesterday in the majority of sectors in the field, we all know that Killian was well beat, funny thing was Glennon twigged his hamstring early on and couldn't knick teh ball but was stillable to win the 50/50 balls in, Killian is not a corner man and should be restored to teh wing or teh centre before we kill his confidence all together. Marc was good, Mahoney had a rough first half and was beaten to most balls but he had an excellant 2nd half, Westmeath played with 7 defenders in the first half so Brosnan was the spare man, but he played out the left wing? he should have drove on more like Tomas did in 2nd half when they swapped, mcquire was fairly loose but not as bad as his colleagues, Maher had an excellant 1st half but he was being pulled and dragged for kickouts and then was being penalised when both fell, Sheehan was less involved but when the game was in the pot he came up and caught 2 or 3 key balls to win posession. Worried about our forward movemnet, where was this quick ball we've been hearing so much about lately, non existant yesterday after 10 minutes back to the same failings, Darran has to start the next day but out on the wing, I'd Put dec on the forty. inside, Donaghy I don;t know his first touch is gone beyond poor I'm guessing since he knocked the basketball on the head. Cooper was good yesterday so was O'Donoghue who was our best forward in the first half for movement, Curtin wasn;t on long enough but had fast hands and vision for Galvin;s point. I'd be tempted to start him for star but in such a high profile game and considering the oposition I'd be inclined to stick with experience.
The only positive was when the was on teh line yesterday, teh likes of Tomas, Cooper, Marc, Declan were openly looking for the ball to make it happen and drive on, there was heart or stomack for the fight. Jack's starting 15, well he never makes wholesale changes, I'd bet Darran for Donnachadh and Crowley for Mcguire, I just hope he swops Crowley and Young.
