Good forward Keith but not a great ball winner.

Pat Spillane for me. 8 winners medals and he had a very big influence on all those victories. His skill set was superb wherever he popped up on the field. Pound for pound not alone Kerrys greatest, but probably the best all round exponent of Gaelic football that I have seen.

I am very excited to see Clifford develop though. If he lives up to his potential, he could be in this conversation in 15 years time."
Yes David Clifford will be if the Aussies don't come calling

David is a good footballer but you can never trust minors to step it up to senior though .

We've had brilliant minors in the past like paddy curran and Barry John Walsh and they never made it unfortunately.

Yeah Kingdomboy i remember well the hype surrounding Curran and especially Walsh given his pedigree.

I guess once a name is made at such a young age they probably were expected to line out for 6 or 7 different teams through underage/senior club games, divisional sides, minor, college teams etc, id assume nowadays there is a structure in place so these type of players are managed well.

Clifford does look a class above any player from his age group at the moment and its exciting to see what he can become once the lure of Aussie rules isnt too strong.

David is lucky in that he has excellent players all round him as well.

Hopefully the lure of oz will pass gently and keep going.

Saw David kick a remarkable 3 6 for East Kerry minors v Mid Kerry his first goal was incredible but there was ever only one Mikey Sheehy his 79 performance lives in my memory as near perfection Thadhgie Lyne was another phenomenon scarcely mentioned these days

Welcome back 37sowhat , it's good to hear from you again on here.

We've been blessed throughout the years no they very rarely overlap, it's like you had Mikey Sheehy Maurice fitz mike frank gooch, I won't put jod in that bracket just yet but I've been lucky to have been able to support all these brilliant forwards in my time.

I never saw thady lyne unfortunately.

Ps you weren't wrong about rob o'sé stepping up, he's a lovely midfielder.

I would concur with every word and a tremendous man to drive on his colleagues on a team as well.
