974345 Horsebox - should have backed him! Great first half display from Kerry (Donie Buckley had them well prepared) and there was always going to be drop off in second half and Cork showed their worth. Declan O'Sullivan best footballer in the country. Great occasion in Killarney and pitch was in top order. Was that a dress rehearsel for the All Ireland we saw yesterday i wonder? Sheehan surprised me at midfield to be honest and i was delighted for Maher.

I was making comparasions yesterday on way to Killarney of 1991, Same situation Cork as All Ireland Champs coming down just to take us on, that we didn;t have much hope against them.. I wouldn't say the perfect ambush but Cork and even most of us Kerry folk were all suprised come half 2 yesterday evening in Killarney. Agree very happy for Maher he has his critisc but he always gives you an honest hour you could see him gaining in Confidence yesterday he had Aidan Walsh destroyed

well what a day yesterday, i got burnt alive but it was worth it!!

I think Jack has to get great credit i think his tactics are second to none and he is the best in the business.

A masterclass by Declan O'Sullivan and the work rate of his Darren O'Sullivan was really great to see.

Considering we have the tow boys to come back for the quarter final we seem in good shape.

jesus lads is there any midfielders at all left in kerry to bring in when the game gets tight and players are tired. whats jacks love for quirke ? i dont get it. we need someone that can catch a few ball and hold them and make good use of them. the guy hasnt played all year every time he gets the ball my heart stops. i've seen enough of him otherwise no problems withh the rest of the boys they did us proud again yesterday.

Kerry are getting the rub of the green from the CCCC this year. Could pay dividends come september.

Re; M. Quirke.
Micheál is one of the best fielders in Kerry and dominates the majority of Club games, yes there is a lack of mobility but he is not put in for his sharp bursts of speed, he is put in to simply win clean ball and hand pass onto a runner normally the wing backs/forwards in the closing stages of a game. Last year against Limerick was a typical example came in about 20 minutes to go and won 4 or 5 clean catches, at about 6ft 6in and 16 stone approx, he can dominate the last 15 minutes or so, unfort against Cork they also had two lads of similar height so this ploy was not as effective.

He will be introduced again in the ¼ final for this and in my opinion rightly so - on a different point I would not have taken off Sheehan for him last Sunday, I would have changed O'Leary with Sheehan going to the corner and Quirke filling the void left in the middle. Also I have questioned our Keeper but have to admit he was very solid on Sunday and his kickouts were fairly effective.

horsebox. I also questioned Kealy and fair play to him had an excellent match. Maher another of my perceived problems also did well.

No I've always rated Maher, there has been a steady improvement over the last 2 years and he has stayed injury free, he won't star but he has found a level of consistency in his play, Looking forward to the stats in Kerry's Eye tomorrow, I suspect he will be in the top 3 or 4 for Possessions and for his tackle count. Met him at a recent North Kerry game his size really surprised me and I'm no small man, but he's a towering young lad very strongly built.
