Is anyone in a position to tell me when the draw for the U16 football league and championship is on?

Also any opinions on who will be challengers for A and B honours this year?

Ballinasloe should win B handy if they are in it.But i would think they will be in A.other teams such as Tuam should be good and never leave corofin out.tuam or ballinasloe for A

U16 2012 assessment
1) Claregalway - Won everything u14 in 2010 and as a result must be favourites to retain the u16 title.
2) Moycullen - Won West u15 2011 in hugely impressive fashion
3) Tuam - Won u15 North 2011 and seem to have become a lot stronger.
4) Corofin - Beaten finalist u14 championship 2010 and look to have improved a lot
5) Mountbellew - Beaten finalist u14 league 2010. Wont be too far away either.
6) Salthilll - Beaten finalist feile 2010 and can never be ruled out with a massive pick

At u14 level in 2010 there was a huge gap between all of the above and everyone else but I suspect the gap might have narrowed in the 2 years.

Teams most likely to bridge the gap are
1) Killanin ( impressive in u14 B 2010)
2) St James ( V.strong u14 2011)
3) Craughwell ( V.v.strong in u14 2011)
4) Monivea ( Strong u14 2011)
5) Glenamaddy
6) Ballinasloe
7) Barna ??
8) Kilconly ( a few great players but may lack numbers)
9) Carraroe ( Dont know how many of last years team still uunderage?)
10)Lettermore ( Dont know how many of last years team still uunderage?)

Great detail 4plus9. You have your finger on the pulse.

Whats normally the breakout for A and B?

Is it North board A and B and West board A and B or is it done across the county?

The odds on this year championship
1.claregalway 3/1 (won everything at u 14.But i think if they don't have any of the turloughmore lads they are not in contetion)
2.tuam 5/1(heard they have work very hard over winter months and won u 15 north)
3.moycullen 5/1 (heard good things about them and won u 15 west)
4.mountbellew/moylough 7/1(prob second best team at under 14 but have not heard much about them since)
5.corofin 12/1(build around 4 or 5 good players don't think will be in the running for the title)
6.sathill 16/1 (weak team from previous sathill teams at u 16 but who knows they could pull players from all over)
other teams like LETTERMORE and St JAMES have heard good things about but not to sure as i have not see them play yet.
looks like a less competive championship and leage from last year with i think only four teams in with a chance

The odds on Mountbellew /Moylough are very good at 7/1 and I predict a cracker of a final between them and Moycullen.Ican see clearly from the top of twelve pins.I hear Sean Linnane is playing county minor this year so that is curtains for Claregalway

Don't consider the bookie business BoobyJohn.
I'll have 250 on Claregalway, 166 on Tuam, 166 on Moycullen, 125 on Mountbellew, 77 on Corofin and 63 on Salthill. Total ouutlay €847. Guaranteed €1000 return unless some outside the 6 wins...and that's not happening.

I didn't think Claregalway were that dependant on the Turlough lads, if Linnane was missing would it make that much of a difference, is he that good? If he is he must be a potential dual Galway minor player so.

I dont like sayin this...But moycullen are the ones to be . They tore apart the west in under 15s. Their Team is full of height speed skill and passion. Claregalway have great players like Mark Rohan Ryan Manning Padraig Kearny and paddy Griffin but the lack in other positions and that will be their down fall.

Does anyone have any opinions on who will do well this year in under sixteen . The draw took place in loughgeorge last thursday. I think renvyle for the b league in the west . St brendans for the north league in b . In a i think salthill in the west and claregalway in the north . Too early for the championship i think.

Will Moycullen be a challenger for Salthill in the West A?

Who looks like they will challenge Claregalway in the North A, Have they improved since 2 years ago?
