NFL Division 2

Any team could beat each other in this Division. Laois have been poor so far but i think they will improve and put it up to Roscommon this weekend.
Westmeath have some young players, Ger Egan, Callum McCormack, Paul Sharry,John Heslin. Not that surprised to see them do well.

Galway are missing Tom Flynn for the rest of the League, big loss for them, as well as being without Paul Conroy and the Corofin players.

Good man pingcity, your so knowledgeable about Meath football, pardon me if i don't pay much attention to you though.
Galway, and Meath to be promoted, can still see Kildare safe they will beat Roscommon and head to head will see rossie go down with laois

knowledgeable isn't one of your strong points royaldunne. You probably only tipping Galway for promotion because they bet Meath. Your confidence of Meath gaining promotion seem unbreakable would be something else if our neighbours were to throw a spanner in the works this weekend in Navan.

Ok analyser or pingcity, how many times in 130 years have Westmeath beating their neighbors and fellow Leinster opposition in championship?????? . To save either of you embarrassment ill tell you, never. They very seldom have beat us in league either, so if you all pinning your hope on them getting result in navan then you ain't got much to go on. IM VERY familiar with Westmeath team, and while they are better than they showed under bealin, they wont beat Meath in navan. Fact

royal dunne . you have the usual meath arrogance. based on what do you think meath will beat westmeath
you are basing it on history not on reality . i think if a;ll our players are fit we will win
you say you have great knowledge of westmeath and if you do then you would know that players like ger egan
paul sharry john heslin etc have no fear of the royal jersey , navan will be buzzin on saturday evenin but the
west of meath will be the team celebrating and not the east of dublin

I meant to add that Meath now play Westmeath and Laois at home, after these two game we will know whether Meath are in a promotion or relegation battle.

Oh the craic is starting here now, nothing like a local derby to stir the blood. For what it's worth I think Westmeath will pose many problems for Meath on Saturday, they are bound to be on a high after Newbridge and are improving steadily under new management and will relish the chance of chopping down another Leinster rival and all but secure Division 2 status at a minimum in the process however I feel Meath at home with a decent crowd and knowing the importance of the next two games will prove decisive. I predict a close tough battle with little asked or given but Meath to emerge with a 2 or 3 point victory

Mickcunningham. I have lived for a long time in Westmeath work here too, and do a fair bit of underage coaching, actually one of the players for wm was coached at club level by me, hell of a nice guy, id also know alot of the team. And while they are a good outfit, but they wont be able to compete with graham Reilly, Newman, keoghan, McGill, tormey , menton. Its not been disrespectful, i actually rate wmeath as a serious threat, but i still feel we will win.

Rd doing his best neighbourly talk I see.
I'd agree with him on one thing that westmeath are better than rossies.
My predictions are galway and down to go up. And laois and roscommon to ply their trade in div 3 next year.

Indeed mick. IM really looking forward to it, should be a cracker. With non of this blanket defensive nonsense.

If last seasons League and Championship is anything to go by, I would say Roscommon are a far stronger side than Westmeath.

Granted Westmeath have beat Laois and Kildare, and lost narrowly to Galway. But they have some sturdy matches left to play, with Down, Roscommon, Meath and Cavan remaining. I could see them at best winning 2 of those.

With non of this blanket defensive nonsense? Meath have already gained two points with blanket defense tactics and it's Meaths best hope for a win again this weekend. I can't recall Westmeath beating kildare too often yet they won last Sunday and in Newbridge. This current mediocre Meath side would hardly strike fear into any side in div 2.

All to play for. Bit disappointed our match with Laois did not go ahead as the momentum was with us even though I thought the game would be tight. Playing 5 weeks in a row will be difficult for usand the other 3 teams with a refixture. We are missing a few key players in addition to at least 3 Corofin championship starters. Surprised a few are writing off the Rossies. They have some serious forwards and I think a clming team somewhat like ourselves. We have a massive game in Newry this wend. Not a definer but a win would put us in pole position with 3 of our last 4 games at home.
