Why was the draw deferred ? All county championship has been voted in by the participating clubs.

yes i believe so but no update from county board to what was asked of the clubs in December to vote on, all county makes sense but what is the big delay in doing the draw

Thought last years worked well. A competitive City, East & West/South competition. Wouldn't be a fan of all county . There would be as many at Junior games in the West than at Senior club championship matchs.

Junior football draw only announced yesterday and u21 premier hurling last week so they seem to be doing one by one.

made a fine mess of the football, imagine winning the junior B and not being promotoed and worse still, not even been told that was going to happen, banogue only found out when they saw the draw yesterday, same rule applies for 2020, no promotion from the Junior B

There were meetings back in November discussing the football competitions and structure for the coming year. Only 6 or 7 junior clubs bothered attending.

How many of the Clubs in the junior football are really that bothered about the Junior Football championship, whilst all clubs should cater for both clubs , reality is ballybrown, castlemahon, monagea, south liberties, ahane ,bruree ,hospital and even banogue's main focus are on the small ball. Removing local derby fixtures weakens the interest further.

From my point of view, the local derby aspect is irrelevant. I want to play against teams who want to play football, and will fulfill fixtures.

The rallying call of 'Let's beat that shower down the road' doesn't matter to me.

Confirmed 26 team all county junior championship with 4 groups, delighted to hear this, it should have happened 10 years ago when it was first purposed.

Group a
St keirans
Doon
Garryspillane
Ballybrown
Castletown/Ballyagran
Cahirline

Group b
Adare
Kilteely/Dromkean
Croagh/Kilfinny
Patrickswell
Mungret/St Paul's
Old Christians

Group c
Templeglantine
Kileedy
Na Piarsaigh
Rathkeale
Feenagh/Kilmeedy
Monaleen
Ballybricken/bohermore

Group d
Ahane
Monegea
Creacora/Mainister
Askeaton
Drom/Broadford
Stalker Wallace
Claughaun

The divisional championships were poorly ran the last few years and it wasn't all the divisional boards faults either, any club's failing to fulfill at least 2 of their fixtures or club's pulling out this year championship should be relegated to junior b for 2021.

What will the format be if its approved, could 4 progress and have 1st playing fourth in another group giving you last 16 onto last 8 . Or is it top 2 for quarter finals. If it was top 2
Castletown & Caherline
Croagh & Patrickswell
Kileedy & Ballybricken
Dromcollogher & Claughaun

good to see the championship going all county. but would have agree with point made above it's an awful lot of teams for a junior championship, 6 and 7 teams per group there will be a fair few one sided games and walkovers I'd imagine. they will probably have to make a junior premier grade if they continue that route.

There needs to be more than two junior championships. I think that the championship should mirror Senior right down to the lowest level. Therefore if you have 12 senior teams divided into two groups of 6 then every other championship from premier intermediate to junior z should have 12 teams divided into 2 groups of 6 as much as humanly possible. There should be junior C at the very least and possibly junior d for fun hurling. We are crying out for a recreational level.

Hopefully now that it is all county it will move towards more consistency across the grades.
12 senior, 8 Premier Inter, 12 Inter and 27 Junior teams currently. It would not take too much imagination to split that into 5 grades with 12 in each grade.
Maybe 7 grades of 8 teams would work too as it must be said that the PIH grade has been the most competitive since it was introduced.

It also causes the most headaches fixtures wise. Two extra weekends are hard to find when you have county players involved.

But with QFs in senior and Intermediate there are 8 rounds. PIHC takes 9 games to win so only 1 extra weekend needed.
I would probably go with the 2 groups of 6 though and drop the QFs with the way the season is structured these days
