Absolutely, and to be honest I've been very disappointed with the Gaa in this whole area. They should be taking a leaders role when it comes to any potential restructure, consulting all county boards and liaising over and back with suggestions and proposal, hopefully in an effort to reach an agreement with best suits all parties.

But of course this is not the case, they're basically just going along for the ride and letting the GPA and media pundits etc lead the way.

Why? TG4 already show all sorts of games from club championship to ladies. If there was a tier 2 competition I'm sure they'd love exclusive rights, even if you had to give them away at a knock down price that's fine as long as they cover the games. GAA will have to decide do they want them covered or not because Sky and Rte will never do it for commercial reasons. TG4 has a bit more flexibility in that regard.

I know TG4 do covers these sort of games and fairplay to them, but I'd say people would be less inclined to watch the games if they were being broadcast in Irish, I would be anyway to be perfectly honest with you.

Yeah that's fair enough it doesn't bother me as I'm fluent but even if you're not it's still preferable to no coverage. Virgin / TV3 might also pick it up if the price is right. Even a well produced highlights show would be fine I think most people would be happy with that.

Well look this is it, if Meath was playing then I'd watch it no matter the language, could be in klingon and I'd still watch it.

A well produced highlights show would be very welcome, I think the lower tiers in Hurling really suffer because of a lack of highlights.

The Ulster Hurling Championship has kept going. The Provincial Championships can be played out as a separate competition to the All Ireland Championship. It's not a difficult concept it's just a question of enough support for it or not.

The Ulster hurling championship is dead. You have teams playing with second teams nearly because they'd a game the following week that they were preparing for.
