996508 I have heard that the review committee is as follows 1) An Independant Chairman who is yet to be appointed 2) Peter Carty 3) Thomas Eddie Boyle 4) Hugh Crudden 5) Patsy Dolan 6) Pete Mc Grath (former down manager). Is there any truth in this? If this is the committee, then it is largely made up of the same people who appointed John O Neill in the first place so I would not have much faith in the work that they are about to carry out. Lets hope the independant chairman is a strong caracter, and that Pete Mc Grath can immediately see the mess we are in and use his influence to try and get it sorted once and for all.

Why would we need any outsider? Surely the people at the heart of Fermanagh are best placed make a judgement?

O'Neill post under review

27 July 2011

Fermanagh manager John O'NeillFermanagh manager John O'Neill will learn in the coming weeks if he's to be retained.
The County Board has set up a review committee to asses the Ernesiders' 2011 season, which was plagued by off-the-field issues.
A number of senior players refused to play under O'Neill but the manager was given the full backing of the Board. The Lisnaskea man still has two years of his original three-year term to run but is becoming an increasingly-isolated figure.
The matter is expected to be resolved in the next couple of weeks.

Does this review inspire confidence or is will it be another bit of spin-doctoring resulting in no change to the staus quo?

'The County Board has set up a review committee to asses the Ernesiders' 2011 season'

that'll be a short one meeting, awful league campaign and didnt get promoted, hammered/inolated in first round of ulster championship by a mediocre derry team, embarassment! and finally to finish off the season a defeat in the first qualifier to LONDON! if any positives can be pulled from that enlighten me!

We are going to have a review, so what's the big deal?

I'm pretty confident that if this review is carried out fairly then John O'Neill will come out clean and his appointment as Fermanagh manager will continue as planned.

The outcome of the review will probably focus on the protesting players who have brought about some unwelcome media attention and these players together with others who wouldn't give their services to county football will be blamed. The blame for Fermanagh's failure will be largely aportioned to these explayers who for their own selfish reasons didn't put Fermanagh first.

I know some people will not like this but these players will have to accept responsibility for their actions rather than trying to pinpoint the issue on one man, John O'Neill who has remained totally loyal to the Fermanagh team inspite of what he has endured this last year.

Mick O'Dwyer aka Micko was chatting about Fermanagh in last nights GAA show on RTE's the Committee Room. I'm telling you he's coming to Fermanagh.

Its premature to link ODwyer to the Fermanagh post as a vacancy does not exist yet. Strong rumour is that he is going to Carlow.

The Save Fermanagh group who is really made players and club officials has been encouraging those interested in the Fermanagh senior team's future to take on the county board and the county team management and hold them to account for bringing about the demise of Fermanagh. These meetings have been arranged individually in order to save Fermanagh's future. The bottom line is that there has to be changes and those currently charged with responsibilities to the Fermanagh team will have to go. That is what is coming out of these meetings.

If Mick Did come, it would be one of the biggest things to happen Fermanagh football. The man is a Footballing Genius, Just look at the work he has done with Longford this year. Anyone who doesn't want Mick to come to our county must not want Fermanagh standard football to improve. Also if Mick was to come it may bring back some if not all of the players that have walked out (fingers crossed)

Jeysus lads you are makin fools of yourselves. Micko was very unrecognisable with Longford because he was Wicklow manager, Glen Ryan is the Longford manager. So much for knowing you sport !!!!

fermanagh_gaa dont you mean wicklow?

And if anyone thinks that micko is coming to fermanagh they need to have their heads examined. The man is 75 from kerry and could have his pick on numerous jobs. If someone can give me one good reason why micko would take it I will accept him as a legitamite candiate to succeed John O'Neil (so long as the county board have some back bone)

Ticktock/Fermanagh gael- Just about sums up the knowledge of some posters! quote: 'just look at what he done for Longford' -Micko was in charge of Wicklow not Longford.

Irrespective of who is in charge we are a Div 4 or average Div 3 side so I would not get too carried away. How many underage games did the county win over the last 10 years? - there lies the answer. The quys who talk about letting the clubs have there say appear to know little.- Is it not the people in each club who elect their representatives to the County Board and is it not the club representatives who elect the personnel to run the County Board. Pete McGrath would be a good choice but doubt if he'd do the impossible job. The players who left have demonstrated their committment to Fermanagh and may I add that I suspect that not many of the posters who have been whinging over the past 6-9 months have ever played much football for the County team. My advice is that even the best of players have a very short playing career and that career is best fulfilled by concentrating on playingt rather than sulking/walking away or talking.

Yeah i got mixed up, embarrassed now because i support Wicklow in football as well.

Anyway i cannot see any chance of micko coming to Fermanagh because like its been said he's in his 70's from kerry and cannot travel to fermanagh all the time. I also heard that he may be retiring from football now that his run with Wicklow is done. I just wrote that post because i was surprised that anyone would not want micko to come (as i had seen from someone's previous posts) Yet i agree no chance he will come

Well horses, news from the paddock is that the Fermanagh Management team review sessions went well last week.
Only 10 people turned up and when they did they found out that Mr O'Neill was not even in attendance.
These 10 players then received an A4 sheet from team trainer Simon Bradley (the only person from the management in attendance), were told to fill it in then sent on their way.
If this constitutes a full end of season review then I'm a monkey's uncle.
Good to see the manager could spare the time at this crucial part of the review process to attend this review and read what his players thought about the year....................................
Maybe he was too busy attending club games?????

Hungryhorse you are just a stirrer. You and few others are getting boring putting out the same old rubbish week after week.

After the review, I am quite confident that the County Board will be reassured that their choice of manager was the correct one and it is the team that needs to be develop rather than anything else.

I would say that O'Neill be about when you are pushing up the daisies!

gaalltheway horse does the truth hurt you and your fellow club house cronies?????
The best imformation you can ever offer is that O'Neill will still be there next year.................. i do not think so.
The good people of the county need to know the truth about the incompetent performance of the management team this year.
Check my posts, all at the cutting edge and my reported facts have always been accurate and true, I have made it my mission to keep the good people informed and am proud to do it.
I tell no lies nor make anything up, I do not need to. O'Neill's incompetence speaks for itself.
