Ha HA .Was going to start my post along those lines artisan. Yea I know these games are just about building match fitness, but I still think you should go out and try to win them.

I agree CC. My post wasn't aimed at anyone on this form, just a tongue in cheek swipe at tomorrow's headlines. No doubt this is evidence of why Celtic need 'Rangers' ! Seriously though, I watched 20 minutes tonight and thought we were really poor, I guess that's the whole point of preseason warm ups. Definitely need to hit the ground running this season and not start off slow like we've done the last 2 seasons, so want big improvements in the upcoming matches.

Good to get a win eventually in the pre-seasons, good to see Hooper and Stoksey on the scoresheet and great to see Paddy Mc getting game time. He was only on the field a couple of mins when a good bit of play between him and McGeough set up the opener. Hopefully Izzies infection thats kept him out so far isn't too serious and he'll be back playing in time for the CL qualifiers - think Lennon is hopeful he will be ready for the Ajax game.

In other news - good to see a bit of a payout from UEFA for the Europa League last year. £1.6m may not seem like a lot but every penny will count given the forecast doom and gloom predicted by Regan et al - we might be able to survive another month or two now...... Also see that Celtics performances netted the SFA an unexpected £543,000 bonus - I'm sure the club won't be holding out waiting for flowers and a thank you note.

Yeah good win in the end. Pre-season games are notorious to judge form on though.

Are we in the pot for the CL draw on Friday or are we the next draw????

Yeah we're in the draw on Friday for the 3rd Qualifying round and then all being well we're in the Play Off Round to get in to the CL Groups Stages aka the big money round.

How nice it is to be able to dream of the Champions League..........

Hopefully we get quite a tough draw. A game the lads have to get up for and then go out and get a good result. It won't be long now until the season starts and whilst some are predicting it to be a foregone conclusion i don't see it panning out that way. We should win the league, but we have to be right mentally to be able to do so. If we think we have it won already and it's just a case of turning up and strolling to the title then i think we could be in for a great big shock....

There, Old Firm back on the agenda. Now i know very little of the set-up here and how the fixtures and games would work, but i'd imagine being as its made up of 5 teams everyone would play each other once, then either the top two play in a final or Top of the pile wins the trophy????

Either way, Sky get there Old Firm game, we get a chance to hump Newco all over the shop, probably still with our Under17 team as we'll have Europe, the League, League Cup and SFA Cup to be getting on with. But still Sky will have their blood money for an old firm game...

Actually just checked out the scores from the first leg of the HJK/KR game and given that HJ are 7-0 up then its going to be Celtic v HJK. The only thing that would worry me slightly is that we're playing a team who are well in to their League at this stage - played 17 games winning 9 of them, drawing 3 and losing 5. We should still be too strong though from previous years CL qualifiers any shocks seem to come where a 'stronger' team is up against a team who are from a countries league who are well in to their season.

Just seen the draw for the other Scottish clubs in Europe, lets just say with the exception of Celtic I dont expect any of the others to be booking flights beyond August. What this will do to the coefficient of the Scottish is to plunge it further into the abyss, they'll be battling it out with Crusaders and Linfield before they know it.

So it starting to look like the Sell Out Saturday campaign planned for the 11th of August is really starting to gain momentum, Aberdeen have already announced the sale of over 10,000 tickets for their home match against Ross County, on top of season ticket sales they could be looking at nearly a full house for that one.

Other clubs and supporters groups following their lead, and if it goes well most clubs will be able to balance off the lack of visiting ex Rangers fans in one single game.

As for Sevco, well they've the New Firm derby against Queens Park to be looking forward too. Sure at the moment there's only one team in the bottom division called Rangers and that's Berwick, and they're an English team.

Sky has also apologised to all its subscribers for wrongly advertising they could watch Rangers in 3D.

They of course meant D3.

Have to say i think we've got a decent draw. But we really have to go for the jugular in the 1st leg. I mean the last time we played them, in the O'Neill era with the Legend and Sutton et all we beat them at home and still needed an extra time winner out there to go through. They will be no mugs, but over two legs we have to get the win.

If we get through to the cl group stage the co-efficient will be given a shot in the arm that would be well needed. The Europa league run last year also boosted it a bit so we need to keep going. I would say it will be a lone furrow though as i cannot see 'Well doing any damage to Panathinikos. But you never know. It was good to see earlier that inbetween the Champions League draw the team formerly known as R*ngers got a tough draw at home to East Fife in the League Cup. Could a giant killing be on the cards????

I was bored this afternoon but this made me chuckle to myself.

While we can dream of the Champions League and glamour games against Real Madrid, Inter Milan, this link will show what the cheaters at Mordor can expect next season.

Hopefully tribe there will be no giant killing in League Cup and that East Fife will prevail. Helsinki are well into their League, Celtic are notoriously slow to get their season going and this could be a banana skin. Looks like there will be no signings unless and until we get into Champion League group stage.
