Surely there can't be an SPL 2, the SFL clubs have decided by an overwhelming majority that Rangers belong in Division 3. If this idea of an SPL 2 is pushed ahead let's hope no SFL clubs take up the invitation to join it but alas I feel the opportunity would be too good to turn down. If it is division 3 would Celtic fans not miss Old Firm derbies for at least 3 years? Would having zero competition and winning the title by Christmas not feel a bit hollow? I can't help but feel Celtic fans are being very short-sighted here

Pomeroy i have a funny feeling the Glasgow Cup will be resurrected and probably played around the New Year, home and away so i'd say there would still be 2 Old Firm games.

This SPL2 idea is an absolute joke and a disgrace. Doncaster has to go and he can take Regan with him. They have ran roughshod over the scottish game for long enough now. A new board and body is needed that governs one and all. And those pair of jokers should never be heard of again.......

Start of season is only a couple of weeks away can't see them having time to set up an SPL2 for this year. There are 42 Clubs in the SPL & SFA the most obvious solution is 3 Divisions of 14 teams. One round of home & aways (26games) and a top 6 bottom 8 split with another round of home & away games giving top Clubs 36 games a reduction of 2 on present number. If they do this NEWCO could be back in 2 years. Will I miss The Old Firm games, yes of course I will but this was the only honest way forward. SEVCO is a totally new entity, ok they will inherit a huge fanbase but something is either right or not right. Scottish Clubs did the right thing in overwhelming numbers. There could well be major financial implications and other Clubs could go under, I'd hate to see that happen but there was no other way.

After reading what Mr Green and Mr McCoist have said it appears that the New bears are prepared to accept their medecine and start in Div3. Hopefully that finishes the SPL2 nonsense.

The fairest decision was reached. Whilst it will mean no big derby game for a few seasons in league terms i'm sure there will be the odd cup game where we may draw Sevco.

Now hopefully we can just concentrate on football and getting the new season up and running. It's not long away and the Champions League qualifiers are looming large also.....

Has the social unrest we were warned about started yet?

I'm expecting LA-esque riots all over Scotland by sundown...

Yes they did my friend and it deserves to be said twice for emphasis. Celts playing Stuttgart Kickers at 5pm today a German Company are actually televising it so it should be available on the usual internet outlets.

Frank firstrowsports.eu is usually the one I use, it's fairly easy to find a working link. Had a look and the Celtic game is on there

they should have been throwing out totally, if it was a small club they would have left them fall to the side

You're spot on kerryluck. Fair play to Stranraer, the only Club in Scotland that called it right.

I have some friends who are rangers fans claiming that the spl/sfa are constantly moving the goalposts against them, its hilarious the dillusion they are under. celtic 1-0 down at the minute, playing ok but no cutting edge in final third

Stuttgart win one nil and totally deserved it. They played the game in a very competitive manner and fair dues to them for that. Celtic were more in an exhibition match mode. My attitude to pre-season games is that fans travel to them and you should go out and try to win them.I know you have to try out players and make plenty of substitutes but the guys on the field at any one time should show a bit of urgency.

True Corkcelt. Stuttgart coulda/shoulda had at least one more goal after shooting over the bar from close range with forster beaten. celtic did seem in slow motion at times but surely at this stage it is important to get their competitibe heads on and try get a winning mentality built up before the CL qualifiers start. Neil needs to go into that game knowing exactly what his team is and what his tactics are gonne be.
