They've already lined up a glamour friendly against Spanish side Club 18-30.

Whilst everyones eyes are on the mayhem in Govan, Lenny is quietly going about the business of tidying up our squad and moving on lads surplus to requirements. Juarez joined the exiting players today, looking through the reduced squad only Darryl Murphy, Rasmussen and possibly Loovens remain as targets for the door. Murphy is likely to go to Ipswich, Loovens is out of contract so is effectively gone unless Lenny decides to offer him an extension. That would just leave Rasmussen and he has just 1 year left so worst case scenario we carry one guy for the year. That is a great position to be in as most Clubs are lumbered with a bit of deadwood that are eating up wage budget & contributing nothing. I expect one high profile sale to bring in 7 or 8 million and I expect this plus 2/3 million to be spent bringing in 4 or 5 new recruits. Well done Lenny upwards & onwards.

corkcelt,
I think Peter Lawell and Celtic are playing this perfectly..ie saying nothing and let natural justice take its course. If Celtic came out with a statement like mad Vlad did then the r*****s fans would be blaming us for everything whereas now they dont know who to vent their anger at most..Their websites are comedy gold at the moment.Between blaming everyone apart from themselves and fighting among themselves(some are now looking for their money back from the rfff)its hilarious.Lets plan for the new season and just forget about them.

It'd be a bit cheeky but Lenny should look at signing sone aluko. He's available on the free, a proven scoring midfielder in the spl, wont demand a hefty wage, seems to be looking to stay in the spl. I see charlton have been looking at him.

Dundee United have now announced they too are voting NO. Looks almost certain they will be out of SPL next year, whether its Div 3, Div1 or no football at all remains to be seen.

So now the Juniors, Dundee United and Aberdeen have stated no to NewcoFC.

What i thought would never happen, what i though was unthinkable really is about to come true. Bye Bye R*ngers........Sorry Newco.....

This spl sfa rushing through a merger of the leagues to help Newco does smell a bit iffy though. I mean there was no notion of a merger up until it looked highly likely that the Mordorites were doomed. Again the spl/sfa are not looking great in this whole mess.

Yeah Lennon is just getting on with things as he should be and not worrying about whats going on in Govan. See Danny Holmes seems keen on getting to Parkhead with the noises he has been making. Don't know too much about him to be honest though a quick gander on wiki and not sure if his experience is what is needed in a defender, especially if you're looking at mounting a serious campaign for Europe. However if Liverpool and other clubs are showing an interest in him he can't be that bad and maybe would be worth a punt. Forests Dexter Blackstock is another name thats linked with a move.

Beginning to get a bit annoyed with Forster and his mucking about to be honest. He might be a decent goalkeeper but he obviously is wanting away and stalling in the hope that some of the Premiership clubs will come in for him. See he's been given an ultimatum of the end of the month to give an answer.

Back to Govan and I see fans on different forums asking why Lawwell or Celtic haven't gone public like Hearts and the Arabs. Personally I think they're playing it right. You know for fact that anything that is said will be jumped on by the hacks and spun to be sure that Celtic are back on the back pages of the papers. Between the job the Govan mob are doing to hang themselves and having the likes of Mad Vlad letting rip then its better to sit back and let the circus continue while you just concern yourself with your own club, biding your time.

So barring any last minute changes of heart, Sevco will not be featuring in next season's SPL. I can't see this much talked about SPL/SFL revamp getting off the ground, when we're a matter of weeks away from the season kicking off. 'Rangers' will either be in Division 3 next season or maybe more realistically, will be playing exhibition games for at least one season while all this gets sorted out. Well done to the SPL Clubs in refusing to be bullied and intimidated by a shower of cheats and their lackeys in the media.

I have to say i thought McKenna's bid for Club12 was a wind-up. How is gods good name would the mordorites take him as their owner????

On another note, best of luck to Sammi's boys tonight against the germans. By god they are going to need it!!!! Again i have to say Sammi has been playing rather well for the greeks in the Euros. I have to admit he has utterly changed my opinion of him in the last 6 months or so.

The key part of the game has now started. Sky reporting McCabe & Aluko rejecting move to NEWCO with more to follow. I reckon Green was relying on flogging most of the squad to get the funds to get through the year. If they walk for nothing he will be snookered. Re-jigged SPL with 2 Divisions is the new flavour of the month with a view of reducing NEWCO'S banishment to 12 months. My only worry is that Celtic Board might hold back from investing in our squad figuring we already have enough to win SPL.

Sally McCoist on the transfer of contracts - "The transfer of contracts has already happened and the club's clear legal advice is that players' purported objection is ineffective".

Now considering Charles Green has so far been unsuccessful in attempting to set up the banking arrangements of Sevco 5088, coupled with the fact that he has no source of income, with rumours of season ticket sales going back to the already dead club, I can't imagine the players will be any better off come pay day. I doubt they were given the required notice or period of objection to their contracts being transferred over, so expect to see more backtracking over the next few days. Employees in some cases need to be given up to six months notice (3-4 weeks in most cases) that their contract is transferring from one company to another, with the newco company only up and running a few days I can't see how this could be possible.

All it's going to take is one of the more senior and established players to walk away and the rest will follow follow.

There's an awful stitch up going on here to get Rangers off the hook between the SFA, SPL and SFL. If they lose the SPL newco vote, and that's not a given yet as a few SPL chairmen seem to be getting cold feet to voting NO, the lowest they will drop to is Division One and that stinks to the high heavens. There appears to be behind the scene pressure being put on some football people by sinister Scottish Establishment forces.

Well the floodgates have opened then. McCabe, Aluko, Whitaker, Naismith. All fleeing the sinking ship for nada.....That has got to hurt. Won't be long before McGregor Davies Bocanegra and Goiian follow suit.....

Lee McCulloch said he wants to stay. So that will mean just him taking on Arbroath in August then......I can't laugh anymore, i'm too full of jelly and ice cream....ok one more bowl.........

From the start I felt this was the real punishment facing them. OK if they go to Div 1 or get thrown out of Cup they would be back in a year but now they will have to rebuild a team and if they get no compo for players leaving they have no warchest to invest in new players. I particularly loved Whittakers comments that there was no history attached to the NEWCO. Credit to the Hibees for saying No its rumoured that St. Johnstone will be issuing a statement also saying No today. The big issue now is do the SFA and SPL have time to cobble the new set up together before the start of next season, second issue is if they do and the NEWCO starts life in Div. 1 will they have a team capable of winning promotion.

I have to say Corkcelt, isn't it amazing how quickly the spl/sfa/sfl have come round to thinking the the two tier spl may be a runner after all, after putting the kaibosh on those plans a couple of years ago.

How quickly all those rifts have healed between them all being as their pet team are staring into oblivion. In terms of a cobbled together league, well i'd imagine they'd sort that out pretty sharpish after Independance Day. As for them having a team that will challenge to go up, i seriously doubt it.........
