To owe so much to one man Heffo

(Oldest Posts First)

Just travelling down to Laois for a game and just happened to catch a fantastic interview on Newstalk with Ger Gilroy talking to B Mullins Tony Hanahoe and Bomer Liston , was on for about half an hour , just a couple of points
Hanahoe remembered playing in the league in Cork in Crome park when there was less than ten fans on the hill
Hanahoe played for four years when we couldn't get past round one in leinster
He remembered if picked for Dublin you didn't discuss it with people ( shame/embarrassment)
The 1973 playing in Kilkenny in div 2 football , arriving at the game to find the Kilkenny minor hurling championship is on and running half an hour late ground is full and Kilkenny offer Dublin the points, minor game finishes and 10 thousand Kilkenny fans leave,
Fantastic for any Dublin fan to listen to if you get a chance to listen to it onn a podcast ,
How things have changed thank god , heffo had the players but he gave them the pride and belief

Great lads, knew them all personally and heard all the tales, wonderful stuff but I'll listen to the podcast later tonight after the game.
