Slaughtneil's dual players will play two massive games over a four-day period, starting with Sunday's Derry SHC final.

Seeking a sixth successive county crown, the Slaughtneil hurlers are up against Banagher in the decider for the third year running. Michael McShane's team have injury concerns as key duo Brendan Rogers and Gerald Bradley are both expected to miss the Owenbeg clash.

Three days later (Wednesday 3 October) at the same venue, the Slaughtneil footballers will replay their Derry SFC quarter-final meeting with Coleraine after they couldn't be separated in last Saturday's original fixture.

The Emmet's bid for a five-in-a-row of Derry SFC titles hasn't exactly gone to plan. In July, Terence McWilliams stepped down as football boss after only three months in the role.

The club has since appointed an in-house management team of Co McEldowney (manager), Padraig Kelly (assistant manager), Kevin O'Neill, Fergal McEldowney and Willie Hampson (selectors).

Facing a hectic schedule of games, is nothing new for Slaughtneil though. For example, last October their dual players played four games in as many weeks en route to retaining the Ulster SFC and SHC titles.
