Will Tipp win the league? What are your opinions?

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I think they can. they need to improve in the forward line, especially Noel McGrath and John O Brien. Our back line can hold any forward line in the country. People are talking alot about Cork at the moment, but I think they are not quite there yet and in the process of building. I think that Tipp are well able to beat the remaining teams. Its likley that Kilkenny will make it to the final so if Tipp make it there too they will not want to lose it again especially to Kilkenny. What do ye think?

hard to know i think we are well capable of doing it but it all depends on our mentality.the league is very unpredictable this year so it's anyones game

I think tip can do it as they were unlucky last year in the final and not to mention they were robbed out of the all ireland know way it was a penalty but i think theyll come back bigger and better this year

Need to win at least two of the three games left I'd imagine to have a chance of making the final first. Waterford will fancy their chances when the come to Thurles. Other than their off day in Galway they have looked good.

Cork are going really well so it will be hard to win there. The same applies to Offaly in Tulamore. So if Tipp win 2 of these 3 matches they will have earned a league place. That's assuming that two wins will be enough of course.

So in anwersing your question, we are a long way off making a final yet, never mind winning it.

Yes we can.I agree our defence is strong. Brendan Maher is a big improvement at midfield, there is not too much wrong with our forwards especially now with Seamus Hennessy and Timmy Hammersley as options. The team is improving with each outing.I have a feeling its going to be a Tipp vCork final.

If these results happen on Sunday we should make the league final.

Kilkenny beat Galway
Tipp beat Waterford

Cork are flying at the moment. We will have to beat Waterford Sunday. I think being honest Cork will beat us in the league , We might meet them in the league final if we get there.A Cork win on Sunday will have them for definate in the final & there will be sum battle for second depending on Sundays results.

Is Hennessy the real deal though? There seems to have been a few false dawns alrready with him. Hammersley though looks like he will push hard for a starting place come championship. Yep Brendan Maher plays well around midfield and is the obvious choice to replace the injured Woodlock. I would love to see how Michael Cahill would fare at left half back in Brendan's place. I've a feeling that Sheedy likes Shane Maher and he will slot back in there.

I think Hennessy will be ok. He was a good minor , had a good Fitzgibbon this year, seems a lot fitter and is very strong. Is Webster playing better lately?or is it just me.

Ye only have one forward Deise so we wont worry that much.Yer backs are not playing well conceding big scores so I would'nt lose any sleep.

Not sure about henessy, dosen't seem to have the vision to be a top class forward grand he's big and strong and has decent skill.

I can see cork winning the league, but if tipp's half-forward line start to function! Also i don't think we've seen a match with what will new tipp's starting 15 in the championship wise either personell or formation. I think cork are approaching what will be their starting 15 will be.

Waterford again depends on how the forward fair could be wrong but i can't see kelly(waterford) getting 1-14 there plenty of cover in the backs and they seem to be giving away less free's too.

To make a statement like that ensures your living up to your name Wild Pundit, Waterford only having one forward is the most ridiculous statement Ive read on Hoganstand in a long long time :) :) Ill be back on here Monday for a chat with ya lol :) Or we may bump into each other in Semple :)

Ah now Deise dont take it to heart!!!We all know one man scoring 1-17 means only one thing!!!yer other forwards are still in the dressing room!!!

Do come back Monday...Nothing like a bit of banter with the Waterford lads..Win..Lose or Draw after a game!!

If your other so called forwards come to the fore on Sunday I stand corrected in advance!!

Sayng Waterford is a one man team shows you must know nothing about hurling. It obviusly takes a team effort to get those frees for Kelly to convert.

Thats a strong team for Sunday. Cannot see them losing to Waterford.

Strong team named during the week alright but midweek injuries to kelly and callinan nothing serious i hear. I think we've found our option at midfield brendan maher was everywhere today.

Hag_and_Cheese (Tipperary) - Posts: 6103 - 28/03/2010 19:15:56    601565

Waterford are more forward in fitness for this time of year compared to other years. Brendan Maher had a great game.Paul Kelly showed he still has something to offer. Tipp are coming along nicely.

Wild Pundit, how did ya like our other forwards on Sunday?? 2-16 is only a small taste of what our forwards are capable of with only 1-7 of it coming from Kelly!!! :) Ye were damn lucky to get the draw I think(momentum defo swinging our way at the end), and to be fair the Ref made a couple of diabolical decisions at the end of the game!!

There was so much talk about Kellys high scoring last week that I think the ref wanted to keep the number of frees down. win some, Lose some, draw some, that seems to be the nature of our game at the moment!! Heres to hoping we have no draws in the Championship. They bloody break the bank and I dont think my boss will give me two Mondays off in a row. :) Well done to Dan he's back and up for it! Richie Foley had a good enough game too.

He made bad decisions alright. If we had our Eoin Kelly we'd have prob taken ye to the cleaners. If ye cant beat a Tipp team without Eoin Kelly theres not much hope for ye!!!!

It was a good game & maybe the draw has done no favours either team. I dont think Tipp would like to be playing Cork 3 times in 6 weeks.

Im still reckoning from an earlier post Cork v Galway final.
