Wexford County Board has confirmed that Davy Fitzgerald will remain in charge of the Model County senior hurlers in 2019.
The inimitable Clare man has been at the Wexford helm for two seasons and the team has taken significant steps forward during his tenure to date.
The 2013 All-Ireland winning manager refused to be drawn on his future in the aftermath of his side's All-Ireland quarter-final loss to Clare at Pairc Ui Chaoimh last month and his body language suggested that he may have been ready to take on a fresh challenge.
However, Wexford GAA released the following statement this morning. "Wexford GAA County Board today (14 August 2018) is delighted to announce that Davy Fitzgerald has committed to continue in his role as manager of the senior hurling team for 2019."
